The Wrecking Hits Top 5 on AIR 1 Radio; New Moon Update

TheWrecking.JPGYou all know how much I love The Wrecking, so I wanted to share a little tidbit of news with you: The band's single, "You Remain", from their debut album, A New Abolition, has hit #5 on AIR 1 Radio this week. They're among artists like Skillet, FM Static, Red, and Tenth Avenue North.

The band has also almost hit the 10,000 vote mark needed to get their song "Our Feet Don't Touch The Ground" incuded in the next Twiight movie, "New Moon."

The song "You Remain" has also been included in iTunes Essential Rising Stars Christian ... Compilation? List? Promotion? I'm not an iTunes user so I don't know the right word. But the song is available along with artists like Mandisa, Brandon Heath, DecembeRadio, and FM Static.

Vote For The Wrecking's Song "Our Feet Don't Touch The Ground" To Be In The Next Twilight Movie, "New Moon"

The song, "Our Feet Don't Touch The Ground," by The Wrecking (one of my favorite groups - both musically and personally), is being considered for use in the next Twilight movie, "New Moon". But to get the gig, they need to get 10,000 fans to vote for their song.

In this blog post, Dan talks about the cheesy Christian movies and the problem with Christian art.

Movie Review: "Jesus People" Hilarious Spoof of Christian Music Industry

If "The Office" met the Christian music industry and they had a baby (after they got married, of course), the result would be "Jesus People," the new movie from screenwriters Dan Ewald and Rajeev Sigamoney and director Jason Naumann.

In the tradition of great mockumentaries like "Best In Show" and "A Mighty Wind," "Jesus People" spoofs Christian music in a way that makes viewers come face to face with some of the absurdities of the Christian culture. It's a great chance to laugh both at and with ourselves.

Movie Review: "The Imposter" Starring Kevin Max

The new movie, "The Imposter," tells the age old music industry story: sex, drugs and rock and roll, and the rise and fall of a star. Except this time, we're not talking about some mainstream act; we're talking about Christian music.

The movie centers on musician Johnny C (Kevin Max), husband, father and frontman for popular Christian rock band Grand Design. The group plays all the major Christian churches and venues, sells records and has loyal following. Johnny C has everything an artist could want. He also has an addiction to painkillers and women.
