Ginger Millermon's music selected for new site, PrayerGates.com

GingerMillermon.jpgFive songs from singer/author/speaker Ginger Millermon's latest album, Amazed, will be offered as free download resources for the new online community for women, Prayergates.com.

The site is based around excerpts from Beth Moore's best-selling book, Praying God's Word. Prayergates.com has partnered with Lifeway Worship to offer free resources that fit the "theme" of each month's chapter study.

"I am so honored to have my songs be used alongside Beth Moore's book," says Millermon in a press release. "My hope is that these songs will serve as comfort and encouragement to all the women involved with PrayerGates.com."

Millermon's album coincided with the release of her book, Grace Thus Far, which chronicles the journey she and her husband Joel made when doctors told the couple one of their twin 30-week old sons wouldn't survive and should be taken off life support.

The couple refused. Today, their son is a thriving teenager who has amazed his doctors. Ginger is a staunch pro-life advocate, working with organizations such as Vitae and World Vision.

Carl Landwehr, President of Vitae Caring Foundation says in the press release, "Ginger's story conveys a message of hope and optimism. It compels the reader to never give up on God's plan. It will further motivate readers to see the value and sanctity of all human life when our society is much too ready to 'toss aside' babies who may not be perfect according to society's standards."

The Millermons added to their family recently by adopting a little girl from India.

Driver Of Car Involved In Accident With MercyMe Bus Has Died

The driver of the car that collided with the tour bus of Christian rock band MercyMe this past weekend has died.

The accident happened on Saturday, when the driver, Kara Klinker, 18, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, turned into the path of the tour bus as it proceeded through an intersection on a green light. Klinker was in the third trimester of a pregnancy; her unborn baby was killed in the accident. Two passengers in the car, 17-year-old Barbara R. Schmucker and 19-year-old Dario L. Boutte, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The band has kept fans updated on the status of Klinker, asking repeatedly for prayers for her as well as the families of the victims. In a statement today, the band said:

August 12, 2009
Along with many of you, we have learned of the passing of the driver of the car from the accident on Saturday. Our hearts continue to break for these families and all those who knew them. We continue to pray and ask your prayers for everyone affected by this accident, that God would bring healing, comfort, peace and understanding at a time when they are desperately needed.
Bart, Mike, Jim, Nathan, Barry & Robby MercyMe

Please keep the families in your prayers, as well as the band as they find ways to minister during this tragedy. Even though they are continuing their tour schedule, I know they don't take this lightly.

MercyMe Releases Updated Statement About Accident

I told you earlier this week that Christian band MercyMe had been involved in an accident that took the lives of two passengers in the car that hit their tour bus, as well as the live the driver's unborn baby.

The band released another statement today and asked for us to share it with readers:

MercyMe would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming support and prayers that have been said not only for them, but for the families affected by this tragic accident. We have been in continued communication with the chaplaincy program at the Ft. Wayne Police Department, and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with everyone affected by this situation.
Every night on stage when we introduce our song, "Bring the Rain", we talk about God being in control. If we believe what we say, then we must continue to look at how He will get the glory through this, and bring healing to so many.
We resumed our touring schedule in Milwaukee Monday evening. Before beginning the concert Bart addressed the crowd for all of us, expressing our heartbreak for the families in Ft. Wayne and our desire to pray for the families and for the young lady who still remains hospitalized. The crowd joined us in prayer specifically praying for healing, comfort, peace and understanding. We thank all of you for continuing to pray.
Bart, Mike, Jim, Nathan, Barry & Robby MercyMe

Please continue to keep the driver in your prayers, as well as the families of the victims, and the band as they continue to minister to people through this tragedy.
