Hiking Boots Muddy/Dirty?

posted by goquin

With fall and winter weather, hiking boots  get wet, muddy and dirty. If there’s just lots of dust has collected on your boots, simply use a shoe brush to remove as much as possible and wipe off any debris with a paper towel. But if the boots are muddy and wet, here’s how to clean them.

First, let the boots dry completely before you clean them. A soft-bristled brush will remove dried mud from the entire boot. Don’t forget to scrub the seams and hidden spots too. Wipe off with water. Be sure to also air out the inside of the boots and place a couple of used fabric softener sheets inside to help deodorize. After cleaning, if the outside is leather, then apply a leather conditioner.
