Need a Last-Ditch Stain Remover?

Buying Avocados

2. Punch holes in the bag and let sit for 2 or 3 days. The avocados will ripen.
3. Then squeeze fresh lime juice on top of slices, sprinkle with salt and wrap in a tortilla.

Dishwasher Not Doing a Great Job?

* Use instant, powdered orange breakfast drink. Put 2 to 3 tablespoons in the dishwasher cup.
* Run the dishwasher through the wash cycle—with dishes is fine.
* The citric acid will remove the stains and your dishes will come out cleaner!

1. Put the tablecloth into the dryer, along with a damp towel.
2. Turn the dryer on to the fluff cycle and let run for a few minutes.
3. Check: The wrinkles should be gone!

Keeping Plants Alive While You are Gone

1. Fill your bathtub with about ½-inch of water.
2. Put each of your plants on a saucer and put into the tub.
3. Cover the tub or each plant with a dry cleaning bag or two to create a mini-terrarium.

Removing White Rings from Furniture

1. Mix half non-gel toothpaste and half baking soda into a paste.
2. Put some of the mixture on a damp cotton cloth and gently rub until the marks disappear.
3. Buff with a dry cotton cloth.

NOTE: DO NOT USE THIS ON UNFINISHED, LACQUERED OR ANTIQUE FURNITURE.

1. Always test whatever cleaning agents you may be using on a hidden part of the garment, such as the seam, before you begin.
2. Work from the back side of the stain and be sure to put absorbent material under the stain area.
3. Apply the cleaning agent to the stain to force it down into the cloth.

Tearing or Cutting Salad Greens?

* You should gently tear whatever greens you are going to use rather than cut them with kitchen scissors or a knife. The reason is that the metal can cause browning of the edges faster than if you tear them.
* Also the torn greens will hold dressing better.

Deodorizing Trash Can

* Sprinkle baking soda in the bottom of the can and also over the trash to help contain odors.
* When you remove the trash bag, clean the inside with hot, soapy water and scrub the baking soda around too. It will be fresh again.
