I have yet to make the weekly Torah portion a part of my own children’s lives. We don’t talk about the parsha at shabbat dinner, and if we go to shul at all, it’s almost always after the Torah reading is done. (In fact, it’s usually after everything but Adon Olam is done.) But if I were going to do parsha with my kids (and one of these days I will. Really.) I would definitely take my cues from the mom who writes Parsha Projects. She creates, describes and photographs wonderful activities that bring the Torah to life for her children. Best of all, they are the kinds of crafts that are nice enough to want to spend time on, but not so gorgeous as to lead to certain tears. (Mine.) I, for one, get a horrible complex every time I even look at the crafts churned out by Creative Jewish Mom, aka Martha Stewart-stein. (Known that way by me only.)

Wow…ParshaProjects is amazing! The author is obviously an insanely talented creative force and all these projects are great. I can’t wait til my baby boy is big enough to get his hands dirty with these ideas. Thanks for the tip.
