Where In the World Is Suri Cruise (and Who Wants to Know)?

posted by | 12:00pm Thursday July 13, 2006

I understand the deep-seated need to see The Chosen One, baby Suri, the TomKat spawn. Really, I do. My life also is incomplete without a sighting of the little princess. I also am on board with the Tom-has-gone-nuts crowd, and likewise see much of what he does these days through that prism. But to criticize the new parents for not accepting oodles of cash in return for having their baby’s photos splashed across the tabloids?

People, come on: Let’s take a moment and think of what we’re saying here. Time was, we criticized celebs for eagerly parading their young in front of the cameras. And now we’re dissing them for insisting on an ounce of privacy? And if that’s not bad enough, this is leading people to speculate that poor Suri doesn’t even exist–as if a People magazine spread has become the pop-cultural equivalent of a birth certificate.

Maybe it’s the soon-to-be father in me, but I sympathize with TomKat on this one and applaud the couple’s refusal to bow to the pressure and allow their privacy–and their baby’s–to be invaded. TomKat, you do your thing and let us see Suri when you’re good and ready–or don’t. It’s your call entirely.

But while it’s still a few months off, my wife and I will be happy to auction off pictures of our little one when he or she arrives. I realize we won’t get TomKat-level payouts, but shall we start the bidding at, say, half a mil? Anyone?

While I respect privacy, I HOPE it isnt that the child is deformed in some way. As the parent of a severely handicapped child, I speak from the heart. If th echild is different in any way, I hope they will have the courage to face it, and admit it and use their resources for th egood of the handicapped. If it is just a privacy issue..cool! May God bless them all :-) >

I feel most people are curious because he made such a fool of himself showing off, and now it seems as though they have no baby. I hope they have healthly child.>

i cant help but be curious. do you ever think this just might be an ugly child and they dont want the world to know? the jolie-pitt baby was one of th emost beautiful babies i’ve ever seen, so i get why they would be showing her off. maybe little miss Suri just isnt the pretty little girl you’d expect from pretty parents. (maybe she has horns!*gasp*)j/k, i hope she really is alright and her parents are just being cautious about introducing her to the spotlight.>

Tom Cruise did offer pictures of his baby to leading magazines, However the bidding price did not go up to a number of his liking. His child pictures were worth about 3 million, where Shiloh Jolie-Pitt got about 4. It has nothing to do with privacy, it has to do with pride. Secondly, the proceeds from little Shiloh’s pictures went directly to charity. Tom has never mentioned where the money from his hidden daughters pictures would go. Third, He has two adopted children he shares custody with Nicole, The daughter is older and they did not let the world see them until the son, Conner was two years old. The certainly wanted to accept the cash, but the amount offered wasnt enough. I do hope and pray that the baby is healthy.>

Ooh, wouldn’t it be a hoot if Suri really doesn’t exist, and everyone who’s so interested in her were played for suckers? Of course, there could be quite a backlash to that.>

I think Tom’s keeping her sealed up in a hyperbaric chamber (probably bought at the Neverland ranch garage sale), to keep away from Katie’s “Catholic Cootie Vibes” (which is a term actually used in Scientology, I’m sure), whom or what the hell ever it is the Scis are at war with this week, and reality in general. BTW, “Catholic Cootie Vibes” are NOT my view, so calm down.>

With regards to the whole tomkat/joliepitt baby nonsense i have to ask that everyone reading this ask themselves one simple question…how does this affect my/your daily life (i.e. does not seeing the pictures of these self absorbed snobs kids mean life as you know it will come to a screeching halt ?)if you honestly answered NO then you should do as i do and ignore them, maybe if everyone stopped putting a microphone in their faces and asking their opinion we can go back to enjoying their films (normally i would say that but I went and finally saw Mission Impossible 3 the other night and in a few words to describe it:boring, predictable, not believable as far as branjelina goes neither was ever what i would call a “great” performer (the tomb raider movies should never have been made) but unfortunately in this materiallistic society they are on the long list of celebrities who think if they make a few movies or release an album they have the right to then tell me how to live and the media just keeps on feeding their overblown egos so i would ask everyone to stop going to their movies or buying their CD’s and maybe, just maybe these and other “celebrities” such as Paris Hilton,Jessica Simpson, the Olsen twins etc.,etc.(you get the idea)would shut up, the whole “famous for being famous” thing is a mystery to me but seeing as this is a religious blog my final question is to you: how do you think our heavenly father feels about us giving idol worship to these people ? if your having trouble with this question please consult the book of Exodus (the ten commandments) and yes they are still relevant today regardless what the “celebrities” or the government says. thank you for your time Someone who likes to live in the real world>
