A new reality show debuting this fall on the LOGO network has given “niche marketing” a whole new meaning. “Jacob and Joshua: Nemesis Rising” follows the two J-named boys, 20-something twins from Montana, as they pursue a music career (their band’s name is Nemesis). The story gets wilder: not only are the twins photogenic, they’re both homosexual and were raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses. As Jehovah’s Witnesses, they follow a proud musical tradition: all the Jackson kids were brought up in the religion, and Prince still considers himself a member of the church.
A major component of the show, according to LOGO’s official blog, will be that “the pair, raised as Jehovah’s Witnesses, have to deal with whether or not to come out to their religious family.” One assumes that they decided to do just that–come out to their family–or else grandma and grandpa are in for a big surprise when they sit down to proudly watch the twins’ new TV show.
How to tell the Miller twins apart: Josh has dark hair; Jacob is a blond. Jacob has a long-term boyfriend; Josh is single. They bear a strong similarity to Evan and Jaron, the Orthodox Jewish twins who refuse to perform on Friday nights, the Jewish Sabbath. Musically, Nemesis also falls into the Evan and Jaron genre of poppy, rock-inspired ballads about relationships. Will a random radio listener be able to tell that the songs are about guys? And, more importantly, will they care?

The writer asks: “Will a random radio listener be able to tell that the songs are about guys? And, more importantly, will they care?” The average radio listener may not notice, but the gays will. And we all know that gay folks can MAKE a singer or a band.>

Thank you Doug, I too am frustrated. I was watching The View” and heard them say he should be publicly circumcised. I wonder what she thinks about the unjust female circumcision that goes on in Africa. I am wondering if she has ever been drunk or said something that was hurtful to someone. There is such a lack of grace in Hollywood, unless you are Jewish, gay, or a follower of Tom Cruise. I find it ironic that someone can be drunk and speaking nonsense, turn around and make a humble public apology and still be slammed so hard for what he said was a wrong thing to do. I just wonder if anyone really understands what forgiveness is all about. I feel bad for Mel Gibson and his family. It seems like since he made The Passion he has been criticized and under a microscope. Not by the general public, more by Hollywood. I think jealousy (over success and money) is at the root of it.>

It doesn’t matter whether they were raised as Jehowah Witinesses. Your tryng to state that It’s homosexcals in that organization. I assure you it’s not. It’s their choice and Jehowah will dael with them according. I bet one thing , their are disfellowshipped or they left period. i cannot say that they can’t continue to go to meeting, but they cannot be involved in the Watchtower or talks.>

Do people still think being gay is a choice? That defies common sense — when did you choose to be straight/gay? I can’t just decide to be sexually attracted to only men and not women, or vice versa. That’s just silly. Anyway, good for these twins. I hope that their families will embrace them and follow the guiding example of love that leads their faith. “Love your neighbor as yourself” — no caveats, no exceptions.>

You know I don’t know much about the Jehovah way, But my younger brother is haveing a hard time deciding if he is gay or not. He is also afraid that if he does turn out to be gay, if my family and his friends will accept him. I say good for the twins for knowing what they want, and I hope the best for them and thier family. I told my brother that anyone with a heart and soul would accept a good man for who he really is, and I say the same to the J-twins. good luck!>

Hello everyone. My name is Jermaine and I am a witness. I was just looking up famous actors, sport players and music artist that were also witnesses and I stumbled to this page. Well to start off, homosexuality is wrong, no question about it. But who am I to tell you what I think, we should look into bible account for guidance. If we look into 1Corithians 6:9-10, What! Do you not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit Gods kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicator, nor idolaters, nor adulators, nor men who lie with men, nor thieves, nor greedy persons, nor drunkards, nor extortioners will inherit gods kingdom.” So we see that men who lie with men (or homosexuality) are not accepted. Then, agreeing with a prior comment, if they are still practicing homosexuality, the congregation (or church) will disfellowship them. Also, being gay is a choice instead in which no man was born gay. If desire me to back my comment up with a scripture then let me know. Thank you>

AHA! “nor men who lie with men” So just gay men are wrong! I’m a big fat lesbian so I’m COOL! Hahaha!
Yeah, I chose to be gay the same day you chose to be straight.
P.S. when I was being force fed your religion it was wrong to seek fame. Has that changed? More hypocrisy?

To clarify for you all…biblically…having feelings of attraction to members of the same sex is not condemned (one can, arguably, be born with these feelings or learn them very early in childhood), but it is acting on these feelings through homosexual activities that the bible condemns. That is a choice. If Feelings/Thoughts are impossible to control entirely, but a person can control their actions. If that seems restrictive, take it up with God. He made your body, he has the right to tell you how to use it…or how not to. Many people like to deny his existance, because that gives them a free pass to do whatever they want. Well, that’s your choice, it’s your soul.

Being gay is not a choice.
Acting upon such feeling is. That is a sin.
Jehovah sees us for who we are, and what we are, and remembers that we are dust. So long as we do not sin we can expect his love and comprehension.
Doing what you want, when ever you want, and with whom you want; is a god given choice. Cain did what he want, so did the people in Sodom and Gomorrah. Jehovah however does warn us about what is good and bad. What will be beneficial and what will be detrimental. Whether we listen to him or not, is also our choice. With every choice come consequences and those are inevitable as he sees and knows everything. We’re all responsible to him for what we do and there is no fooling him. Thinking otherwise would be fooling our selves.
Being a gay JW is not as horrible as some defectors make it out to be. I enjoy serving Jehovah and the friendship of the brothers truly makes me happy. I understand that may not be good enough for some but it sure is for me.
Much love to all.
