Rev Run’s Rise

Revrun_idol.jpgBeliefnet recently interviewed Bishop E. Bernard Jordan, a self-described prophet whose book “The Laws of Thinking: 20 Secrets to Using the Divine Power of Your Mind to Manifest Prosperity” develops the think-and-grow-rich ideas also found in “The Secret.” Bishop Jordan believes that God’s description of himself in Exodus as “I AM” paves the way for Christians–indeed, all people–to define themselves as what they most want to be.
Jordan says this “I AM” practice worked well for Joseph DJ Run Simmons, a rapper from Run-DMC. According to Jordan, Simmons came to Jordan’s church when down on his luck and now is both a minister and the star of an MTV reality show. In part of the interview that was deleted for space reasons, Jordan says the reality show is just the beginning for Rev Run:
Interviewer: Let’s say I felt a strong urge to become a movie producer. How would saying “I AM” lead to me making contacts in Hollywood if I didn’t have them?

Bishop E. Bernard Jordan: Here we’re getting into the magic of life. When you start saying that “I AM that movie producer,” all of a sudden you will start being attracted to the people that do movies, to the people that connect on that same level of consciousness.
I’ll give you Reverend Run’s life, for instance. He started saying, “I AM a reality show.” We prophesized to him and said to him that your family is going to be in pictures. I prophesized all this to him. We prophesized about “Run’s House.” And so, he went and took a picture of the family, like I gave him the word of the Lord for. And he’s hung that picture up–he said, “Well, maybe I’m supposed to send it out as a Christmas present to people.” So he sent the picture out. He kept saying, “I want a reality show with my family. I AM a reality show with my family. I AM a successful reality show with my family.”
And then all of a sudden, he was supposed to have gone with ABC Family and they kept playing with the deal. But he kept saying, “I AM a reality show.”
And then after that he said to me, he said, “I gotta to see Puffy about something.” And I looked. I said, “Puffy’s going to call you for something else. But go ahead and see him. He’s going to call you for something else.”
In a couple of weeks, Puffy called to him for something else and says, “I think you need to do a reality show on MTV.” He said, “Great. Can you make it happen?” The rest is history. The reality show happened.
And that all happened by him speaking, “I AM a reality show.” And he was saying that when there was no reality show in sight. And today, America witnesses the reality show of “Run’s House.”
And now he is making affirmations daily saying, “I am a movie producer. I am going to do a movie with my family.”
You’re going to be looking at the silver screen one day, and you’re going to sit there and say, “Hmm, that prophet Bishop Jordan did tell me that Rev was saying that. It finally manifested.”
Because what is happening, people in the certain movie industries are starting to attract to him. When you start saying things in consciousness, everything at that level of consciousness rises up to meet you, to bring the answer forward.
