One of the reasons I am proud to be associated with Beliefnet and this blog is that the Beliefnet community recognizes and discusses issues like the ongoing Writers Strike in the context of social justice as well as spirituality. I started the discussion on November 1st when the strike was looming, and editor Michael Kress has done a fabulous job in providing additional thoughts on the real-life implications of the labor dispute on the striking writers. But now, I want to take time to challenge you to become involved in expressing your support for the writers.

If you have ever been inspired by a single moment on the small or big screen in any way this year, perhaps you could take a moment to give thanks this week by going to the United Hollywood blog and joining their clever Pencil2MediaMoguls campaign to let producers and executives know you support the writers.

Thanks to our friends at Grace Hill Media, you can celebrate the release of the new Disney movie "Enchanted" by entering to win an animated, "enchanted" picture of your child. Just click on the graphic below and follow the instructions there. You'll be asked to watch the movie's trailer and answer three questions.

You must enter by Tuesday, Nov. 28, and the winner will be announced Nov. 30. The winner will need to supply a photo of their child--then an animator will "enchant" your chil'd's and place him or her in a scene (cell) from the movie "Enchanted."

No matter how much you may idolize a band, it's inevitable that you skip at least one or two songs on every CD. There will be ones that propel your feet to tap the floor incessantly, but there will be ones that drive you to press the 'forward' button.

Surprisingly, this isn't the case with MercyMe's latest CD, "All That Is Within Me." Following the engrossing, infectious rock beats of their 2006 release "Coming Up to Breathe," the band infuses their songs with a trademark abundance of verve and life; fans of the last album will not be disappointed by this one.
