You could sum up all the words in the universe that describe astounding love, mercy, freedom, hope, power, and grace. Those words would only scratch the surface of this song. From the beginning of the song that tells how a loving God could reach down and save a lost, blind and miserable soul. The teaching power that is always avaiable when we need it. It has the ability to let us see how He has brought us safe through the trials of life and the assurance that grace will be there to lead us to our heavenly home. It gives us the wonderful promise of time without beginning or end to worship the One who shed His blood for the salvation of our soul. The words of this song has had a impact on lives since it was first written and will continue to do so until the end of time. I love this song and have found it to be and encouragement and a blessing to me. It has never failed to move my heart.

The words ring like the antiphonal response to the sweet song, “Sometimes I feel like a motherless child”. The “amazing grace” that only a mother or a father who gives his all for his children. Somehow even though I felt untreasured and like an obstacle, I felt most of what affected me had nothing to do with me. I gleaned the nurturing in the hard caliche soil for my own growth. I know that because I did more by God’s grace than just survive and continually seek to serve and help even in places where I did not feel welcomed and accepted. I can accept myself more because I feel accepted and affirmed by the power and grace of the universal cosmos. Without my acquiescence or agreement or attempts on my part to please, I accept the tacit mercy and love that comes from God sometimes through those special moments with my mother, my father, my grandfather, my uncles, my aunts, my neighbors, my brothers and sisters, the minister, the teachers, the people I have helped and assisted and sometimes total strangers. I often experience this grace, love and mercy even from pets, nature, a good cup of coffee or tea, a special song or tune, a good movie, a book, a poem, the stars, the season, a dream, a cause for social justice like abolition, civil rights, and peace in a world of injustice, slavery, oppression, war, lies and self rightious inequality.

Amazing Grace is like peace and saddnest at the same time. Alot of times in my life when I have heard Amazing Grace it was at a funeral. Just last week at church they played it. I love singing that song and knowing one day i hope to see the Glory of God and my wonderful loving grandparents. When this time on Earth is over and I am with the father, the son and all the people that had gone to a better place.

Amazing Grace How Sweet the Sound that Saved a Wretch Like Me – So many times I’m thinking I’m going down a fairly straight narrow path with only this and that to do only to find that had God not reached down and put obstacles (or popsicles) in that path and even sometimes carrying me, I would have never made it. Now I not only have glimpses of my Heavenly Home, I look forward to it. When I say I made it, I am referring to the condition of my soul, refined by fire as the scripture says, and I know that is what really matters to HIM. The obstacles were horrific, the popsicles were miracles (I even have a journal now where I have listed them just in case I should ever think I survived and succeeded on my own). The point is God loves me. When all your support systems fail, as mine did, I had HIM and in HIM I had the Church family and in the Church family I had direction and hope. I was blind but now I see (and it was, in retrospect, beautiful…)

Amazing Grace has a very special meaning to. I am a recovering addict with 5 years clean and I know that is only by the grace of God. When I was in my active addiction, my life was being run by the devil. I did whatever was necessary to get one more, I did things I said I would never do. I left my family, I prostituted and I was spititually bankrupt. I was lost in the disease of addiction and could not see a way out. I know in my heart it was God who choose to sit my down and get me off the streets and out of the dope houses by locking me up. This gave me time to soul search with a clear head as to where I have been and where I want to go.
I praise God for His grace and mercy everyday. I look back at my addiction now and realize how many times my life could have been taken in an instant. I believe God was with me and kept me safe from the guns put to my head, the bullets flying by and the johns that robbed me by knife point. God’s grace kept me safe and has now offered me a life of hope. Everyday clean is only through His mercy on me, I know he has brought me this far and as long as I continue to believe and have faith He will guide me the rest of my days. I know share with other addicts how God saved me from me and how He can also save them if they want to be saved. God is so Good! Yes, He is Amazing!

By the grace of GOD,I am the music director at a small little church nestled in the north Ga. mountains. I lead our little congregation in singing praises to GOD each and every Sunday. We sing hymns like “I’ll Fly Away” and “Heavens Jubilee” and “I’ll Meet You in The Morning”. These songs are about that homeland GOD has promised that he has gone away to prepare, and he will return for his children one day. OH… BUT “AMAZING GRACE” speaks of what JESUS CHRIST has already done for us all. How could someone love me so much that he would lay down his life for me, after all I have done, JESUS loved me first and gave his life for a wretch like me. I make it very plain to everyone in our little congreation this song is by far my favorite song in the whole world. One of our youth, knows this so well, when recently she decided to learn to play piano the first song she wanted to learn is “Amazing Grace” so she could play it for me, I cried as she played. Her playing made me listen to the words in my heart again, what a blessing to know how much JESUS loved me, how much he still loves me. To me “Amazing Grace” is a sacred hymn that will never get old or be renewed. I think it is just like JESUS… The same yesterday…today… and forever.

Amazing Grace means release of forbidden spirits; This hymn was being sung in a church and when the verse I was once was lost but now am found was echoed, I got out of my seat and was at the altar, I do not know what all happened after I left my seat; but since 1973 at college; this song has been an inspiration to me. This was a predominantly white church and me a lowly African American subject; This songs lets me know that God is not prejudiced in where he can reach our mind and heart. And we should be the same way.
For many times I have been lost and definitely Jesus found me, I was blind but now I see. If I could just reemphasize all that God has done for me in my hours of darkness; but I realize I cant tell it all; I just give God and Jesus all the praise and the world should praise Jesus also in everything.
Amazing Grace means release; freedom; peace and love and what ever else the holy spirit has to offer; And when ever I am feeling down this hymn picks me up and get me to going on my way. I can’t sing it like i want to but I am always trying; if ever the holy spirit was in works; it definitely was in the soul and spirit of this writer; praise God, praise Jesus for Amazing Grace and how sweet the sound, that saved a wretch like me.

To sing or hear the song Amazing Grace brings tears to my eyes and joy to my soul. Many times in my short life I have been delivered from the cluthes of evil. Many times my life has been spared because of God’s Grace. Because of His Mercy. Because of His Love. And I want to say Thank You Lord. I Need to say Thank You Jesus. I Praise you Lord God. Early in the morning, all through the day, late at night I Praise you Lord. Because you are Worthy. Glory to you Lord Jesus. Glory to You Lord.
That’s how Amazing Grace affects me. Everytime I hear or sing this song I give give thanks to the Lord and I praise Him.

I feel like I’ve known the song Amazing Grace all my life. It has just always been there. One of the most special moments involving the song was at the annual Scottish Games near my home in Liverpool, New York shortly after the crash of the plane containing several students from Syracuse University, (we are a suburb of Syracuse) that occurred over Lockerbie Scotland. As we silently stood and listened a lone piper stood on a wooded hill in the park where the games were being held and played Amazing Grace in memory of all those who lost their lives in that terrible moment. The sound of the pipes and the words in our hearts were a blessed moment.

On a daily basis, I am amazed that God loves me enough to send His son to die on the cross, the one time blood sacrifice for my sins. It is only by His grace that I am free from hell and the torment that awaits those who refuse to believe that Jesus can forgive them of their sins; all they have to do is ask. “Amazing Grace” was the last song my nephew sang at my precious mother’s funeral and, of course, I can never listen to the song without the tears flowing. I miss my mother so much, but by His grace, she is right now sitting at His feet, praising Him. By His grace, my father joined her 8 years later. God took them home to be with Him, and by His “Amazing Grace”, I, too, will join them at His feet, giving Him my crowns and praising Him for all eternity.

I always thought I had the perfect little family. Happy children and loving spouse, large comfy house, good friends and family. Then one day it is all gone. Middle son turns into a run away and on to worse. Husband has an affair then a few years later dies of a massive heart attack. A year and a half later oldest son commits sucide. Our daughter and my self left to struggle with bills and life. My heart was dark and lonely. I found my way to church and I could feel God’s love surrond me and hold me tight. One day as the entire church sang Amazing Grace I felt God ‘s spirit fill me on the inside, it began in the pit of my stomach and grew filling my arms and legs and on to my very breath. All I could do is cry. This power, this love, this understanding … a knowing that if I followed God and did not quiver everthing would be good again. If I allowed God to do His work my family would come back from the darkness and into the light. It has been eleven years from that day and I have had many challenges through that time. I walk with God everyday now, no more taking Him for granted. He is there for me and I will follow Him forever. Life is good. “Unconditional love!”

AMAZING GRACE The Grace of God is Amazing. The Grace of God has always been with me, even when I didn’t know it was. I’ve only been a Christian for 7 years and oh how my life has changed.
Last year I decided to bring my aging parents to the state I live in so I would be able to take care of things if necessary. God was speaking to me. As it turns out I only had my Dad with me for a short 6 months. He died in May after three months of terrible incidents which finally ended up in a massive stroke. My dad was a marine in World War II and the Korean War he was so proud of his country. When I arranged his funeral I had Amazing Grace played and our congregation sang it as well. With voices that praised God so beautifully. It is the only Hymn that really says it all for me. What a wretch I am. What a gift of love for Jesus to show us by making the ultimate sacrifice to save a wretch like me. I will always walk in the light of Jesus no matter what. Jesus has shown me a new peaceful way of life. He has given me many blessings. He has given me Amazing Grace. I will always ask Him what he wants and needs me to do. He can use me any way he wants to. I will be forever grateful for the time I spent with my father in his last months, because of God’s infinite wisdom I finally got to know my father. Now I can put that to rest and serve my creator, my Father. Have you looked around today. How can we doubt we were created? Amazing Grace How “Sweet” the Sound.

Amazing Grace, I am a singer professionally, but I cannot sing this song without being reduced to tears. I can sing many other songs without falling apart, but not this one. Jesus reached down into the ugly places in my heart and replaced the dark, hidden, secret sins and desires with light and peace. God’s amazing grace is not his amazing justice. Truth without grace is dead (Hebrews). If I am without love/grace I am a clanging cymbal, not a ringing, pure bell tone. So to me the wonder of it all is that he picked me to be one of his own when I so deserved to have justice served me. That is so nearly unbelievable that being reminded of the reality and freedom of his grace when I look at his cross restores and grows my faith. If dying on the cross for me (in my place) isn’t enough to make me understand he loves me, then nothing is.

Things I used to take for granted, I no longer do. I share many stories with others of how God shed His Grace on me. I felt so undeserving and lost. But now I am found. The history of the hymn first comes to mind, then, inspires memories of those who have selected it as one of their ‘homecoming’ songs to reflect on the immeasurable grace we have received. I can only agree with the lyrics that as a sinner saved by that grace, I can look forward to those first ten thousand years and what undeserved reward that will be. And, oh, to hear it on bagpipes or other wind instruments – it doesn’t even require the words to be soul-moving!

(THEY SAID THEY COULD HEAR AN ANOINTING IN MY VOICE AND THAT GOD WANTED TO DO SOMETHING WITH ME.)THESE 2 MEN AND THEIR WIVES MINISTERED TO ME THROUGH THEIR TESTIMONIES, AND LITERALLY OPENED THE DOOR TO JESUS FOR ME.I DID VISIT THIS CHURCH AND(TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT)I WENT DOWN FOR THE ALTAR CALL.KEEP IN MIND I HAD NO IDEA WHAT “AN ANOINTING” WAS, NO IDEA WHAT “LAYING ON OF HANDS” MEANT,& NO CONCEPT OF WHAT AN ALTAR CALL WAS.
AS I STOOD AT THE ALTAR CALL,THE SONG PLAYING WAS AMAZING GRACE…
I HAD NEVER TRULY UNDERSTOOD THE SONG TO ITS FULLEST UNTIL THAT DAY.
AS I STOOD WITH EYES CLOSED AND HANDS LIFTED, I BEGAN TO SMELL A SWEET OIL AND SUDDENLY FELL BACKWARDS AS I HAD BEGUN TO ASK GOD TO CHANGE ME.
I UNDERSTAND NOW WHAT HAPPENED IN THAT MOMENT, AND AMAZING GRACE HAS REMAINED IN MY HEART EVER SINCE. THAT WAS ALMOST 20YEARS AGO, AND THE SONG MOST REQUESTED FOR ME TO MINISTER IS “AMAZING GRACE”. WHAT AN IMPACT THESE ANOINTED LYRICS AND MUSIC HAVE HAD ON MY LIFE. I THANK GOD FOR HIS UNMERITED FAVOR TOWARD ME.

I heard this song the first time in church. I did’nt really understand it or it really did’nt hit me what it meant until the death of my friend and roommate. At her funeral, when singing the song, I feel I really understood the words. Then at the death of my uncle, I too had a deep feeling and increased understanding of the song. I feel I didn’t realize how fragile we are and how weak we are. I do now realize that no matter how weak or strong we are life is short and we need to get into touch with God. There is no better a time than now. Because of the song and lifes happenings, I feel that my stregnth in church and with God has increased. Although I associate the song with death, I also associate it with a wonderful thought that my family and friends that have gone before me are now in a better place and are no longer in pain, not suffering , and are needed for Gods work a litter sooner than we would like to accept. thank you, rhonda

Amazing Grace was the first hymn I learned when I was seven and taking piano lessons and have always love it dearly. The next time it played a great role in my life was when I was 13 and I sang it in Church before my baptistism. At age 50 I was in my darkest moment and was in slavery of alcoholism and drug addiction. I was at the moment of defeat and asked God for help. He truely showed me mercy and grace and led me into a program of recovery and a awesome relationship with him.Two days later Amazing Grace came on the radio and I truely at that moment understood how far I had fallen living a life of a wretched lost soul and had been truely blind to the pain and suffering I had cause in my family and friends lives.I was once truely lost and alone but for the Grace of God I’ve been restored to my faith in God and myself and have trulely been blessed and saved. Amazing Grace has been a song I so can relate too.

God’s love and grace reaches out and surrounds us each and every day no matter what mistakes we have made in the past. The song reminds me to be thankful to God for His amazing love, grace, and mercy that is abundant each day on this earth. The liar that tells me I’m doomed because of my sin is wrong. The truth, God’s word and promise, is that God, in His mercey and grace, sent His cherished son to ransom himself for my sin. Amazing Grace is one of my most favorite hymns. It reminds me of my mother as she sang it often as it was also one of her favorite hymns. It moves me very much to hear it sung or especially to be able to sign it either in church or in my home. I have sung it for years and even as a lullaby for my three children, now all grown and now to my grandsons. My daughter even asked me to sign it at her wedding, but I was not able as I was too emotional but very honored that she had asked. I have requested that it be played and sung at my funeral.

I grew up singing Amazing Grace; not only in church; but standing behind my grandmother’s chair when she was sewing. Also learned alot
of other hymns. I thank God everyday for sending His Precious Son to
shed His blood that I might be saved. That God loved us before we were
even born enough to send His Son, is truly God’s Amazing Grace.
Was also glad that it was chosen to be sung in the first Left Behind
movie.
I still sing it in church, at home, or whenever it pops in my mind!

Amazing Grace was my mother’s favorite hymn and she had sang it as far back as I can remember. When my mother died my sister and I picked some of her favorite hymns to be played at her funeral and Amazing Grace was the first one. I had my emotions under control until the organist started playing Amazing Grace and then I started to sob uncontrollably and sometimes still do. When I hear Amazing Grace I instantly think of my mother and thank god he blessed us with the mother he did. She has been gone for 9 years, I am 51 years old and not a day goes by that I don’t miss her and would give anything to have her back for just one day and hear her sing Amazing Grace one more time. Now when I am rocking my granddaughter to sleep Amazing Grace is my favorite that I sing to her. She will grow up singing it and hopefully she will pass this beautiful hymn onto her children someday so that my mother’s memory and her favorite hymn will live in our family’s hearts and minds forever.

Just this morning I was speaking to an older gentlemen I cook for about “Amazing Grace”. We were talking about a various sundry of things when we got on the subject of hymns. He was telling me of his Mother and her love for all the old hymns. I had to interject something of my own. My Grandmother, Virginia, had been diagnosed with leukemia in her late 80′s. “Mom Dit”, as we kids called her had given me my upbringing in the Baptist Church. Every weekend when I was little, I would spend the weekend with “Mom”. She would curl my hair and I remember the dotted swiss dresses with puffy sleeves and little white gloves I always wore to Church. “Mom” was a Sunday School Teacher and sang in the choir. My own Mother, her daughter, was an accomplished pianist and had a voice like an Angel. I recalled to Mr. B how we would hear Momma in the kitchen at the old upright, playing and singing in the middle of the night sometimes when she couldn’t sleep. When she got a little older and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alachua, Fl, she, too, was a choir member. Momma would be asked to sing the solos at times…her favorite and “Mom Dit’s” was “Amazing Grace”. I remember like it was yesterday, when my Grandmother was so ill in the hospital. I had come to be with her and Momma til the end of her time here. To this day, I remember Momma holding her Mother’s hand and singing hymn after hymn. The one she was singing as the last breath left my Grandmother, was “Amazing Grace”. To this day, whenever I hear that beautiful hymn, I get a lump in my throat and go back in time to sitting and watching my Momma sing to her Momma as she passed over to the Lord.

I once was was lost on the path of self destruction. I was blinded/decieved by the trickery of Satan. But, GOD through his amazing grace and his continueous mercy took me out of my lost state and put me on a street call straight. He, through His word and the working of His Holy Spirit in me opened my eyes to see my sins, the need for repentance and to experience His glory.
It never fails, everytime I heard the song ‘Amazing Grace” it helps me to rememember the goodness of the most high GOD. That He chose me, inspite of me. I am thankful for His grace and He is truely amazing.

Grace is an amazing thing in itself. But, what would really be amazing is if we all would live our lives according to the actual definition of Grace: It means Mercy; clemency; A favor rendered by one who need not do so; A seemingly effortless beauty or charm of movement. A characteristic or quality pleasing for its charm or refinement. A disposition to be generous or helpful; goodwill. Divine love and protection bestowed freely on people. The state of being protected or sanctified by the favor of God.
A short prayer of blessing or thanksgiving said before or after a meal. Does anyone out there remember that? We never were allowed to begin eating until grace was said over the food. It is a form of respect and gratefulness for the things God has gracefully given us.
What does Grace mean to me? It means everything. It is what God dispenses freely. It’s doing something for someone without expecting something in return. It is by what we are saved through faith. It is something this world needs a lesson or two in. Without it we are lost. If we continue to be selfish and not gracefull the world is headed exactly where the Word says it’s heading; to the last days. To me, as I am a Christian, that is a good thing.
Whatever happened to full service filling stations? Nothing happened to stations themselvs. They are still out there. But the people who own them refuse to do something for nothing. They no longer dispense grace to their customers. God forbid that they do something and don’t get paid for it. A few guys at work refused to go to a company function the other day. Can you guess why? Yes, they weren’t getting paid to go.
We have lost the beauty and charm associated with grace and have instead become and ugly, charmless world. It’s no wonder the suicide rate is skyrocketting. No one cares anymore. Why live in a world where nobody cares for others; nobody cares about our rights; nobody loves their neighbor, muchless themselves; nobody does anything for free.
Yes, grace is everything. Did Jesus come to redeem us because He got paid to do it? I don’t think so. He came freely and He died freely out of grace for those He loves.
Here’s my version of the beloved song;
“How Amazing Was Grace To Me”
The sound of Grace was indeed sweet to me.
I was a wretch in need.
The things of this world had blinded me.
By the Grace of God they were opened and now I can see.
It was Grace that taught
me not to fear
And by Grace
that I’m still here.
In the darkest hours
Of my sin filled life
How charming that Grace appeared.
That very hour I begin to beleive.
All the dangers, toils and snares;
My mother tried to warn me about.
Twas Grace that taught me to care.
And Grace will take me there.
The Lord is always good to me.
He has given me hope and now I feel secure.
He is my armore and my shield.
As long as he allows me to live I shalll not fear.
When I’m gone for thousands of years,
The sun will still burn brightly.
I will sing God’s Praise;
The praise He deserves so rightly.
The sound of Grace was indeed sweet to me.
I was a wretch in need.
The things of this world had blinded me.
By the Grace of God they were opened and now I can see.
Now the Original; Amazing Grace
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me….
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
T’was Grace that taught…
my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear…
the hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares…
we have already come.
T’was Grace that brought us safe thus far…
and Grace will lead us home.
The Lord has promised good to me…
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be…
as long as life endures.
When we’ve been here ten thousand years…
bright shining as the sun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise…
then when we’ve first begun.
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me….
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now, I see.
Amen!!!

It was indeed amazing grace that could find a wretch like me, pick me up from where no one else could dare come and sit me amongst princes and princesses.
It was the amazing grace of God that unlike everyone else that thought I was a nobody made me realise that I was and actually am a somebody.
It is this same grace that causes my heart to believe and to hope in the one that has loved me.Even when days are dark this grace reminds me that though sorrow lasts for a night, Joy cometh in the morning! And when I feel like I can’t handle it anymore thia amazing grace reminds me that God’s grace is sufficient.

There have been so many times when I have felt down and alone and I can hear these words and I know God is here and I will be all right.
Today was one of those days. I was feeling down and checked my email and there was this ad from Beliefnet and I listened to several artists’ rendetions of Amazing Grace and felt better at once.

The only way we can return back to God is through the Grace of our Lord. As long as we try our best, and be kind to others, The Lord will Bless all of us. But, we cannot return to God without his Grace, even though we are a “wretch like me”. I even presented it to my religious ed students at a weekend retreat, and I talked to them about my past failures in my marriages and how I wanted to die after my husband cheated on me. I told them how important to never give up and to ask the Lord to pick you up and give you strength when there is noone to turn to.I fell into a deep depression and took sleeping pills, but then I realized that my life was not over and I came back to the Lord. I started going to church, teaching religious ed at my parish, and just praising the Lord every day of my life. Amazing Grace is as the title says–Amazing and the Grace is the grace of the Lord that works in our hearts. I break into tears every time I hear this hymn because it reminds me of the times that I was lost and how the Lord saved me, how I was so weak and a coward and the Lord picked me up.

Amazing Grace, How sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me. This song makes me cry each time I here it. I was 10 years old when I got saved and was listening to this song being played on a piano. My life was turned around and I was fully protected by the armor of God. I came from a very abusive homelife, and I always felt that I was alone and at one point I even thought that all kids had the same background and this was my life. God’s grace and mercy showed me that I was not alone and the he would protect me. I would not have made it through my childhood years without His AMAZING GRACE. He Blessed me with the ability of discernment for protection and at 18 years old I refused to listen to one of the warnings and I ended up losing my what I thought was my “best” friend and my “wonderful” husband, for several years I was angry at God for allowing this to happen. It took this song and lots of prayer to realize that I was to blame, I disobeyed and there was consequences for my actions. I am now remarried to wonderful man that believes and relies on God, and God again has blessed me with discernment for protection. Amazing Grace, it will set you free.

How the slaves were not only kidnapped, never to see their families again, but how they were put in the belly of a ship without food or water and made to row to another land and IF they survived, big IF, they were then sold. The dead were thrown overboard without any guilt or thought. If GOD can forgive this inhumanity of those guilty, then HE can forgive and love us now. “Amazing Grace” is and always will be EXACTLY what it says it is….salvation from our Almighty!! Thru the amazing grace of God we can spend eternity with Him and ONLY thru this grace.
Having not been raised in a christian home or even exposed to the word of God I can remember, as a child, hearing two songs that made me “feel different inside”…and that feeling has remained. As I grew older and came to know these songs as “hymns’ I then understood their “prescence” when I would hear them. It was HIM “holding me close even when I did not know Him.” (The two songs were Amazing Grace and Just as I Am.)
Just as you are today He can and will save you thru His Amazing Grace…if you will only place your trust in him and ask for His forgivness.

“Amazing Grace” is a hymn that most of us have sang hundreds of times before. After you sing it for a while, the words just flow from your mouth, with no meaning behind these words. This was the case for me as well, until just recently. My life used to be overcome by fear and doubt, drugs, and worldly things. When my marriage was rocked by infidelity, my husband and I turned to the church for help. The infidelity stuck an epiphony. God is the only answer to everything in this world. This life is only a mere glimpse into our future of eternity with God. This life is a test. We all do horrible things in this lifetime, but it is through His grace that we are saved. Grace is a gift. When we think we have ruined our entire lives, the gift of God’s grace can save us. I will forever be grateful for the words of Amazing grace, the most powerful words in my mind being, “we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise, than when we first begun.” How amazing is that? If we turn to him, and belive, we have eternity ahead of us. I will live my life by the words of amazing grace, because it is through this hymn that the realization of Christianity came to me. Thank you Lord for your grace! I love you, and only live to serve you for eternity.

Amazing Grace is what we see when we are forgiven for our sins. To be truly forgiven takes both love and understanding on the part of those whom we trespass against. Forgiving is the same thing as forgetting and only the most graceful are capable of that. We cannot always forget about those who do us a wrong, and that is the grace spoken about in this hymn. Can you imagine if Jesus said to you, “Child, I forgive you and you may enter my home. But you can only sit in the front room where everybody can see you?” How humiliating would that be? You would not be truly forgiven because it was not forgotten. Jesus forgives AND forgets our trespasses. That is what amazing grace means to me.

The ‘Grace’ of “God” is ‘Amazing’ in that it is a gift to all whom accept ‘Him’ in totality without any reserve or question that ‘He’ alone is “God” having none above nor before. The ‘Grace’ which “He” gives is unmerited by man, we cannot fathom the depth nor height because ‘His’ thoughts and actions are above us. “God’s” ‘Amazing Grace’ is wrought in our lives to save us from ourselves that we may love because “He” loved us before our existence upon earth and it is through this ‘Grace’ from which our humble and pathetic lives continue for without “Him” there is nothing which we could do nor know. Thank you most Holy Father, Holy Son, and Holy Spirit for Your Mercy, Grace, and Loving Kindness at all times. This was the song that they chose. Since then, “Amazing Grace” has been a strong song that I listen to whenever I feel down or miss my mom. My sister even named a daughter “Diana Grace” after our mom and the song she loved. I guess that this new version even says it more. God gives us the grace to accept daily trials and to loose those chains of trouble and fear. When we are able to provide boots to a man with size 13 feet who didn’t ever believe he would get a new pair of shoes and he stands there with tears streaming down his cheeks there is no better feeling than that feeling God gives us. God is good all the time. When we lift these individuals up and make requests for them through prayer and the item comes our way within the week it makes my heart leap from my chest. Yes, His Amazing Grace. I know how the man who wrote the song felt when he wrote it. I am so blessed to be a blessing to others. I am happy that God is using me to help others in need.

Jesus has been so wonderfully good to me and so whenever I see the sun rise or I see the beautiful colours of nature, I cannot help myself but sing this wonderful song “Amazizng Grace, How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch Like me. I once was lost but now I am found. But blind but now I see.”
Thank you for giving me this opportunity to tell you how much I love Jesus.

I am a single Mom of 3 awesome kids, my oldest is in a different state attending college, that leaves My 11 year old daughter & my 8 month old baby boy. I have had every type of struggle there is since I have been doing this on my own & I am going on 40 & just plain tired. So when I hear “Amazing Grace” it reminds me that God is shinning down his glorious love-pulling me thru another day. And the true blessings I recieve everyday is his Grace & Encouragement to Trudge on. Also My “Saving Grace” is My 11 year old, without her help I would have lost it long ago. Thank You Jesus for all The Blessings You bestow on me & my children daily & Getting us thru with your Amazing Grace!!

I have lived an amazing life, by so many life experiences that has made me realize how I have been saved in many wretched ways. The Lord has found my soul and spirit, when I was so lost in this karma world, and also taken me through life experiences that I can see so many things ahead of me without having glasses on, but not being blind anymore. I have lost many loved ones, and had to hear that sound of how amazing the Lords grace is, that at every burial sight I was content with saying my many good byes. The final Amazing Grace song that I heard that made me realize how blind we are in life, is when I lost my only Son in a fatal car crash four years ago. God has truly kept me in my right frame of mind even through some of the roughest days. Now that the holidays are in, Amazing Grace is all I have to keep me morning, noon, and night. How sweet the sound, how amazing our God’s grace is.

Amazing Grace is a song that brings back sad yet happy thoughts. I lost my dad when he was 60 to early tp pass away. My dad was a great man and God is lucky to have him in his house. It’s sad for us not having him here with us but God has a plan for each one of us. This was the song that was played at his funeral. I could never purchase the CD because everytime I went to purchase it I would just cry. By winning the CD I don’t has to be embarresed at the register crying. Thanks so much for listening to my story. Susan Guiliano

“Amazing Grace” is my cleansing, theraputic, “my heart wants to jump out of my chest” song. When I’m sad and hurting I sing it in the shower. I just stand there letting my tears flow with the water. When I finish I feel cleansed and unburdened. It releases me from the pain I was feeling. I also sing it when I’m happy because I’m thankful for the love and blessings GOD has given me and I can’t contain that joy. Sometimes it’s my “just because” song. Because it’s such a beautiful song I just want to sing it.

Amazing Grace tells me about God’s everpresent compassion and grace no matter what we do even though I at times feel like a wretch this sing uplifts me and reminds me of my priorities. It reminds me of a caring God full of grace which never ceases to amaze.

In August of this year I had an awaking… I was told I had colon cancer and it had to come out. I began searching to find out all I could about the disease. God had a different plan for me.. I kept praying it would be healed.. but no, instead It was my time to recieve his amazing grace.. He blessed me first of all by having my husband to hear a word from Him “rise up, go forth and know I am with you” And second after being anointed by His work He placed a halo over my head.. One lady in bible study recognized it and I accepted it as being from our Lord and Savior. From the very first visit to the doctor who did my colonostopy to the Christian nurse was provided to help me through the time of decision to have a operation. God’s timing was in this as well. She only works 4 hours one day a week and He had me there on her workday. She suggested a Christian surgeon who when I walked into his office had a picture of himself in surgery with who else but Jesus. I knew I was there at the right time. I am pleased to say that my stay in the hospital was one where I knew I was being taken care of by angels of mercy.. There love was so evident for the 13 days of my stay. I had so much support from family, friends, sisters and brothers in the Lord I was overwhelmed by His amazing grace to me. I am at present recovering, free of cancer and realizing His Amazing Grace minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day and week by week as He continutes to complete me as His work of grace.
