‘Dog’s’ in the Doghouse After Using ‘N’ Word

posted by dross | 12:12pm Thursday November 1, 2007

bountyhunterbigpicic.jpgReality TV star Duane Dog” Chapman of A&E’s hit show, “Dog the Bounty Hunter” has publicly apologized after a private phone conversation where he repeatedly used the “N” word was leaked to the “National Enquirer” and made public.
In a conversation with his son, (click here to listen to a clip, but be warned, the language is explicit.) Tucker, Chapman expressed concerns about his girlfriend, who is black, because he felt that she would out him to the news media if she heard him say anything she deemed racist—since he admitted he sometimes uses the “N” word. During the conversation, he also noted that if the public knew that he used such a word, he would have everything taken away from him and they would jump to the conclusion that he was a racist.
In the recorded phone call he said that when he—or someone else on his bounty hunting team says the N-word that, “We don’t mean f—— scum n—– without a soul. We don’t mean that. But America would think we mean that.”

In a statement, Chapman, who is a Christian, said, that he has “the utmost respect and aloha for black people who have suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred.”
“I did not mean to add yet another slap in the face to an entire race of people who have brought so many gifts to this world,” he said. “I am ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused.
“My sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to every person I have offended for my regrettable use of very inappropriate language. I am deeply disappointed in myself for speaking out of anger to my son and using such a hateful term in a private phone conversation.”
According to TMZ.com, Dog has reached out to his spiritual adviser for guidance, Pastor Tim Storey, who is African-American, as well as started the process of kissing up to Rev. Al Sharpton.
A&E has said they have suspended production on the show until there is a full investigation.

While I do not approve of racist terms and am surprised that if Dog is embarrassed by his using the term that he doesn’t take it out of his vocabulary (along with the other words he apparently said), the fact remains that this was a PRIVATE conversation.
Private meaning none of our business and how sad is it that this was shared in the first place.Just how did The National Enquirer get a hold of it anyway….

I am a born again Christian and one of the first things the Lord did for me was deliver me from a foul mouth and prejudice against others.
If I had to do a job that caused me to sin, I would find another job!!Dog’s conversation shows his main concern was his source of making Money!! So now I know why he can talk like he does because he is serving the god of MONEY!!!

I read somewhere that it seems his SON sold the tape of the conversation to the media. That to me is the biggest saddest sin here … that you can’t trust your own child to keep a private conversation private. Who tapes phone calls with their parents and why? Did the son attempt to respectfully suggest his father not use that racist term? Or did he go along with it? I bet we won’t hear the son’s side of the conversation. “Dog” is ashamed of his actions, even if it’s only because he knows he’ll lose money over this. I wonder if his son is ashamed of breaking the commandment by God to “Honor thy father and mother.” It’s so sad for all involved.

I believe that all of us are living on Earth and not in heaven because we are not perfect. If we were, there would be no need for an Earth for us to live on; we would all be in heaven cause we would be blameless and sinless in the eyes of God. As the Bible verse states Judge not lest ye be judged also.

This is way over the top. There’s something more disturbing about this article than saying the n word in private, and that’s betrayal of one’s personal space and trust by one so close to him. It’s hard enough for celebs to get any type of privacy, but to have to deal with this from one of his own must be very difficult indeed.

I’m an African American and honestly I don’t know that much about the Bounty Hunter other than he’s obviously a popular guy in America, however, I’m not sure why he uses the so called n-word, but, in private he can say what the hell he wants! I’ve said some things that I don’t want repeated and I’m sure everybody else has as well, but some things need to be kept private. However, I don’t think he’s racist, but, it seems that caucasians have a knack for saying that after the fact, like Michael Richards, Trent Lott, and various others who love saying the word, but then say, “I’m not a racist”. Truthfully, you can say the word, just use it the correct way. The so called n-word is in the dictionary, and guess what, it applies to anybody, any race, any gender, any religion, it applies to people who are lazy, shiftless, don’t give a damn about anybody but themselves, or who try to bring others down with them. Guess, what, that describes a whole lot a people of any race. So, just remember next time you use the n-word, you could be describing yourself!

Part of my life growing up was the 70′s and 80′s and I had friends that called me cracker or what ever and if your a friend you can call them the N word. Which personaly I don’t like. But listen to some of the music and realize who and what your singing along with. If the Blacks don’t want us calling them names. Stop your song Your moma’s a whore or my Bitch. So whoes wrong? Gee I wonder. Don’t just use something to fit what you want to fit. Go Dog get those Bad Boys.
