Kudos to David Letterman for paying his "Late Show" staff out of his own pocket while production on his nightly show is shut down because of the writers strike. The news comes at the same time as reports that Letterman and Jay Leno are each losing $100,000 every night the strike continues.
Letterman plans to continue his largesse through the end of the year. Here's hoping the strike is settled by then. Either way, it's great to see a high-profile star like David Letterman making sure that his staff is taken care of financially during the upcoming holiday season.

I'M IMPRESSED WITH DAVID LETTERMAN HELPING THE WRITERS.
People who help others are very far and veryfew between If there is nothing like a kick back . I think its wonderful that threr is still a few decient people left in the U.S.A.
It is good to see that Jay Leno and David Letterman are doing this act of kindness. They didn't have to do this and no one forced them to. Thanks to the both of them there is a little less stress for these families involved.
Just a tip. There are just two questions that guide my Life, anymore
1- Waht's wrong with this picture ?
2- Follow the money trail !
You will be amazed how quickly a picture comes into focus using this method !
How is it that Letterman and Lenno are losing anything, since they are still on the air, producing what they continue to produce ? Also, even if they use repeats, they still earn income, as the producers are still charging for commercial air-time. So...the writers are on strike, so they are not writing, and yet they still get paid ! What exactly is it that they are getting paid for ? I know if I go on strike, I get paid nothing, simply because I produce nothing, and my employer has nothing to sell. hmmmmmm

Way to go David! It is great when rich folks do this. It is in support of his workers who 'make' his show. I think we can thank Ted Turner, Warren Buffet and others who are setting a good example of 'sharing the wealth' especially if it is 'earned' by the workers.
