NO list could ever be complete without “Wings of desire.”

True about “Wings of Desire.” I will never forget the cool German angels with their pony tails, which one critic compared to New York City art gallery owners. And the weirdness of Peter Falk as a fallen angel. This list did include the American remake, though, “City of Angels.”

My favourite will probably always be Seth from City of Angels. But some other notable angels from movies I love are:
- Albert from What Dreams May Come, who comes to take Chris to heaven.
- Cash from The Family Man, who gives Jack a chance at an alternate life after seeing him do a brave deed.
- the various angelic presences in Bless the Child.

One of my favorite angels was played by indie rocker Juliana Hatfield in a Christmas episode of “My So-Called Life.” She played a homeless girl who helps Angela’s friend and mother on Christmas, and she sings the most hauntingly beautiful song, called “Make it Home.”

While in Nigeria, I was priviledged enough to go on a pilgrimage to a place in Benway State called Akope. This was a catholic pillage, and there I along with other saw Blessed Mother Mary. She was quite angry with me at first:because, I questioned my religious faith then she smiled on my secret prayer and I have been bless every since with miracles as I pray to Lord Jesus Christ, using his beloved earthly mother as an intercessor.

There’s a unique suspense novel, WHAT HAPPENED TO LANI GARVER, about an angel, whom everyone in a small, backwards town thinks is a gay guy. The characters were very memorable and you miss them when the story is over. A must-read.

Even though the actor, Michael Landon, wasn’t the “ideal” angel with his family, he portrayed an excellent angel in the series Highway to Heaven. I always looked forward to that show week after week, as well as in reruns.

You missed some biggies. A couple that were the originals of characters you listed. That you listed the wannabes over the first incarnations makes me realise what the years can do do to Artists.
1) Cary Grant in “The Bishop’s Wife”
2) Bruno Ganz in “Wings of Desire” (The original, precursor to City of Angels)
3) Peter Falk in “Wings of Desire”
4) The Mighty, Mighty Chrstopher Walken in “The Prophecy”
5) James Mason in “Heaven Can Wait”
6) Claude Raines in “Here Comes Mr. Jordan”
7) Henry Travers as Clarence in “Its a Wonderful Life”
I hate to be hating the list, but the film angels I listed above are heads taller in stature than “Angels in the Outfield”, “Michael”, “Teen Angel”, or the updated versions of classic movies. “Past 15 years” stipulation be darned.

How about the movie about a crippled man in a wheel chair who was bitter at life? He was helped by Paul Hogan who played the angel. I can’t recall the name of this one either. Help out? Z. P.S. I have seen angels work in our world so I know that they exist. There have been a few times when I have been allowed to be one, or at least, some thought so.

I miss Touch by an Angle. CBS use to have good clean quaility programing, like Joan of Arcadia (God Talk to her). But now sadly we are stuck with Vampiors and and people seeing spirits. I mean Ghost Whisperer is ok (she helps people to cross over) but we have enough evil people in the world. Let’s not start having evil spirits haunting is too.

What about Earl from “Saving Grace”! Chawing & spittin’, dancin’ and laughin’ – my idea of an angel who’ll get things DONE!
And don’t forget the dynamic duo – Affleck & Damon, deom Kevin Smith’s “Dogma”.
Too many sweet angels make my teeth ache. I prefer an angel who understands all the complexities of humanity.
