Russell Crowe–who has long played heroic figures on the big screen while being portrayed off screen as nothing more than an angry brute–has told Men’s Journal magazine that he hopes to be baptized in the near future. The actor, who had his oldest son Charlie baptized, is considering joining his youngest son Tennyson in the process when Tennyson is baptized in the near future. “If I believe it is important to baptize my kids, why not me?” Crowe commented.
Such a declaration of religious inclination–if perhaps not an outright statement of faith–shouldn’t be that surprising. Crowe built a Byzantine chapel on his farm in Australia for his wedding and spoke at great length about his thoughts on religion in 2005 with Interview magazine. In the article he describes visiting various churches on his own when he was young, and comments that he has a “thing” for the Ten Commandments and believes that it “seems like it was written by somebody other than a human being.”
So maybe Crowe’s baptism reflects a deepening of his spiritual journey, or maybe this is simply a “communal act,” as he described baptism in the Interview magazine story, and not about faith at all. Either way, if it helps him with his anger management issues, I am sure hotel clerks and body guards everywhere feel a little safer now.

Thats’ Great, I just wish more people would do the same. “God Is So Good”, He will see a good change in his life. I know I did when I was baptized.

Anger is a really hard thing to live with. Most of the time it requires loads of work, including professional help with anger management. As far as Crow seeking “something other than human” – this is always a good thing. Being spritually exposed with H2O is an outward statement of an inter guidance with personal faith. Crow’s G-d has been, will be & always be around & within him & his family. Only now he is becoming aware of what has always been & receiving this into his own thinging, living & believing. There is always work to be done & every step is huge for himself & for those around him weather they love him or not. This is a good thing. Being in the creative arts I do not understand how anyone in this field of work (or living) can reject such an awsome creatiave force as our spiritual maker. This G-s is always creating in & around us. It’slway great to accept this in one’s self & continue to let this grow. Keep up the search, Russell!

Baptism is an outward confession of an inward belief in Jesus Christ. It does not necessarily make one more religious, more Christian, or more holy. It does follow obedience principles as we do this because Christ did this. It is, in fact, identifying with the body of believers, much as circumcision was a sign of the covenant for the people of God as identified in the Old Testament biblical passages.

I pray Russell Crowe truly understands the truth about baptism and how it will eternaly change his life. The Word of God says in the gospel of John “except one is born of the water and the Spirit he can not enter into the kingdom of God. In the book of Acts it says to repent and be baptised for the remission of your sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. In the book of Romans it says when we are baptised we are buried with Christ in the likness of His death and as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father even so we also should walk in newness of life. Praise God….

It truly is a blessing to read this. I’m sure the Lord is smiling and their is singing and rejoicing in heaven. I know I am rejoicing it is such a wonderful blessing and I’m excited myself. Shine and let everyone know, I love standing for and sharing the Word. Anytime we hear of someone getting saved, sanctified, water baptism or the Baptism of the Holy Spirit it is a time of rejoicing.
