Check out this list of the top Latter-Day Saints in Hollywood today.
10. Derek and Julianne Hough
These siblings are both pro dancers on ABC's hit show "Dancing with the Stars." Julianne debuted last year and won with her partner, speed skater Apolo Anton Ohno. This year, brother Derek joined the show. Both Houghs stand a good chance of making it to the finals, Julianne with Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves, and Derek with actress Jennie Garth.
9. Ryan Gosling
Although Gosling was raised Mormon, he no longer practices the faith. However, he won't deny the impact the religion had on his life growing up. In a Beliefnet interview this year, he said "[Being Mormon] socialized me at a young age. You have to pray in public, shake a lot of hands, talk in public, sing in church, stuff like that. It has definitely stayed with me."
8. Eliza Dushku
The star of shows like "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Tru Calling" grew up LDS. While she's not active in the church anymore, she's very close to her mom, Dr. Judith Dushku, a well known and respected Mormon feminist professor and scholar.
7. Ken Jennings
The man who holds the record for the longest-ever winning streak on "Jeopardy!" (74 games) is also a devout Mormon. He developed his love for trivia while at Brigham Young University, where he was a member of the school's quiz team.
6. Katherine Heigl
The "Grey's Anatomy" star and recent Emmy winner was also raised as a Latter-Day Saint. Katherine claims that after moving to L.A. she couldn't find a ward she was comfortable in, but she told USA Today that "My good friends are Mormon, some of the best people I know."
5. Julie Stoffer
Julie made waves when she was the first Mormon to appear on MTV's The Real World (she was on during the New Orleans season). During her time on the show, she cried over a story of a Mormon teen who committed suicide because he was gay and was kicked out of BYU for living with male roommates. Since New Orleans, Julie has remained a constant MTV presence, appearing on several editions of "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge."
4. Glenn Beck
Forget Howard Stern--Glenn Beck is a candidate for King of All Media, with successful syndicated radio and talk shows. As a recovering alcoholic, Beck found solace in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and converted. Beck told the Salt Lake Tribune that "I led people astray as much I could but [God] kept putting Mormons in my way."
3. Gladys Knight
Gladys Knight is one of the all-time legends of R&B. During the 1960s and 1970s, she and her backing singers, The Pips, had huge hits like "Midnight Train to Georgia." In 1997, she converted to Mormonism, and one of her stated goals is to perform LDS-inspired music.
2. Jon Heder
Jon Heder made one of the funniest movies in years with his surprise hit Napoleon Dynamite. He still looks back fondly on the two years that he spent on a church mission in Japan. After his time in Japan, he attended BYU, where he studied theater and made short films.
1. The Osmond Family
Not only are the Osmonds some of the most successful Mormons in entertainment, they're one of the most successful entertainment families, ever. Years after the oldest siblings began a music career and Donny and Marie had a variety show, the Osmonds are still hugely popular. Donny is a correspondent for Entertainment Tonight. Marie sells a line of dolls on QVC and is a contestant on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

are mormons also some sort of a polygamist?
Uh oh Jill..... You touched on a 'hot spot'.
When Mormanism started it was a polygamist society.
'Mainstream' LDS is no longer polygamist in the present life, but it is in the after life.
If a man and woman are sealed in the temple and then the woman dies, the man can be sealed to another woman....any number of times.
But if the man dies the woman is 'out of luck' and can't get re-married. So in death the man can have many wives.
What you are seeing in the news is the Fundamentalist Morman society. They belive the the mainstream Morman prophet, Orson Pratt, 'sold-out' to the US Govt so that Utah could be granted statehood.
I have been searcing for Phyllis Ellsworth and the search brought me
to this page. We use to be good doll buddies back in the 1980 and 1990s I think. I lived at Stone mountain and she lived in NC ?
I sure would like to hear from you Phyllis if you should read this.
Please send me email. I have thought about you so much over the years. GOD BLESS YOU. Edna (Moon) Graves
When a man and woman are married for time, and also sealed in the temple for eternity, if either one should die, the other may remarry for timw. They belong to each other for eternity. The man may be sealed to other wives during his lifetime, if he has been widowed. The woman may be sealed to only one man. However, if for some reason she decides she does not want to remain as his wife in the next life, she is not forced to spend all eternity with a man whe doesn't love. Our Heavenly Father does not force. WE have out free will. He wants us to be happy. Man is that he might have joy.
I was sealed to a man who proved to be unworthy. After I divorced him, I received a cancellation of sealing and was allowed to be sealed to my next husband, a most worthy man.
hi
I don't agree with what you said really....
