Sister Christian: Jamie Lynn’s Barristers’ Embarrassment

posted by Ellen Leventry | 12:14pm Thursday December 20, 2007

Jamie Lynn Spears may be blushing with the glow of unexpected pregnancy, but her lawyers are blushing with embarrassment over the Victorian defense of her character that they set against earlier pregnancy rumors.
When the National Enquirer first reported on July 28, 2007, that Jamie Lynn Spears was pregnant, the tabloid was strongly rebuffed by the “Zoey 101″ star’s lawyers and threatened with the ever-looming legal action.
Now someone at the publication has leaked the lawyers’ letter to PerezHilton.com, and the faces at the law firm are sure to be as pink as Hilton’s website.

The text reads:

Ms. Spears is a devout Christian with a spotless reputation, who lives in accordance with the highest moral and ethical standards in accordance with her faith.
There is no “rumor” concerning Ms. Spears’ (non-existent) pregnancy, except perhaps for the baseless “rumor” just now being created by the National Enquirer.
Ms. Spears is not pregnant. It is pathetic for the National Enquirer to attempt to create a wholly baseless “rumor” that Ms. Spears is pregnant, so it can run a malicious story and false story which would be emotionally devastating to a morally upright 16 year old girl.

Guess they won’t be sending a similar letter to CNN.com which has been running the headline “How do you talk to kids about Britney’s sister?” above the fold for the past two days.
To top it off, Perez is also reporting, via Life & Style, that Jamie Lynn and baby-daddy Casey Aldrige are on the rocks and Lynne Spears is not expecting them to marry, according to an excerpt from the OK magazine interview. And TMZ.com reveals that Casey’s uncle Odus, a retired Baptist preacher, is shocked by the whole thing.
Meanwhile, in the same OK! magazine interview, Jamie Lynn claims to be twelve weeks along in her pregnancy. Is she lying about that, as TMZ.com is reporting, because it simply is too incredible/ironic to believe that she would have her lawyers quash “emotionally devastating rumors” of an unplanned pregnancy and then be careless enough to actually get pregnant.
Maybe Jamie Lynn and Ma Spears haven’t been in Los Angeles long enough; Everyone knows that you can lie to your therapist, but never your lawyer.

Yes I agree lets move on. Ms spear’s is not the 1st 16year old to get pregnant and she won’t be the last. In todays sociaty, nothing surprizes me anymore. Yet the media must always make a big deal over stars as if they were not human. It just goes to show you that most young people (14-21) do not think about about the outcome of their actions or in this case nonaction.

Well, Jamie Lynn HASN’T had the GREATEST role models in her life, has she??!! First, her Mom, who is the greatest Stage Mother since Dina Lohan. Then, there’s Britney, whose total disregard for morality has shocked even PerezHilton.
I agree: leave the poor girl alone and get her into prenatal counseling. If there’s a Christian bone in her body, get her Christian counseling, too, before she ruins her unborn child’s life with her lifestyle.
My prayers are with the whole Spears’ family.
