Praying to Save Britney

posted by lmarcus | 11:30am Tuesday February 12, 2008

britbritforidolchatterpraye.jpgMost of us are on Britney Spears Information Overload these days, and Idol Chatter is no exception. Some people simply turn off the TV when they hear the troubled star’s name mentioned. But some have gone one step further–rather than ignoring Britney, they’re praying for her. The website Prayers for Britney lets readers submit and post prayers, letters, affirmations, and even creative writing pursuits.
Beliefnet has a group of our own called Save Britney, which you can click here to join if you have a Beliefnet Community account (you can create a free account here). You can post prayers but also talk about why people are so obsessed with Britney, what her story says about our culture, and where the teen idol may have gone wrong.

Let’s take it a step further. One can join those who use the Master Media Prayer Calendar to pray for numerous people in the entertainment business. It is genuine and respectful. Britney, does need our prayers, not our criticism. She is lost and hurting, and she has children who need her to he healed and whole. As Jesus told those who would stone a woman caught in sin, go ahead, you without sin, throw the first one! They all dropped there stones and walked away. We all need God’s mercy and grace!

Negatism is also bred out of ignorance. The real hell that this beautiful young girl is in the depths of right now, I wouldn’t wish upon an enemy. Chemical imbalances in the brain are real and something
she was borne with. Her actions have been prompted by the illness which she has no control over. Is she at fault, No! She needs and
deserves our prayers. I would love to see her climb out of this dreadful rut and go on to live a positive and happy life!

She does need prayers, and not to be ignored. I can say, except for being really wealthy, I can relate to her. I have 2 children and an x-husband whom thinks the world owes him a living and coping with all kinds of depression and anxiety can turn you sour.

It take’s alot more than just prayer’s yes praying is part of it
people to understand, cause they care about you.is able-body help
but the person that needs the help them self, has to ask the son of
god for repentence, every day, give thank’s for what he gives you
and try this, pay your ten-percent tie’s and dont be afraid, about how
much,it is,as once you decide to give to god,the devil back’s up,
and only those that get mad about what you give, only want it for them
self, and you should distance your-self,from them,
this means put your name on the check or money oder on the envelop
to the church,you remember,as a youth,after service,make your offering
pay your tieths,if you do this all readdy,no worries

Hi, my name is John, and I’m a recovering addict/acloholic. And as far as I can see, Britney’s problems are no different than millions of others including myself with the one exception that she is a child star grown up and out of control…and she’s wealthy and in constant public spotlight. She can afford all these fancy rehabs and the best doctors, etc…but the best thing isn’t fancy…it’s a program of recovery that’s been around since the 1930′s…combined with the proper medical advice I’m sure she’s getting…problem is…alot of those medications have just as many side effects. So I pray that she accepts who she is, and her actions, and that she accepts God into her life as He is the only One with the Power to lift these obsessions of the mind…to surrender one’s life to Him…it’s not easy, but all she has to do is stick her hand out and ask for help…as I said, millions of us do it on a daily basis. It’s time for now for her to forget about the public eye that’s glaring down on her so fiercely, and worry about what she sees with her own two eyese. She has a chance to make a great statement to the world…to confront this dilligently, surrender completely, and work on herself, for the good of herself 1st, children 2nd, family 3rd, and her fans last. She can overcome this only if she wants to…and I know it took me years to get to a bottom bad enough to want to change my life. I pray she has found her bottom. She has a chance to become a powerful, strong adult woman as a result of this process, a chance to actually be a true role model in society…or she could continue on her dark and mysterious path…one that to many of us is not really that mysterious..as we’ve walked it a few times ourselves. So I pray that God helps her and lifts her from the dark place she’s in…and I pray that she accepts Him into her life, and that she remains strong and can recover…I pray the same for her as I would anyone else…she is no different juse t because she’s a star who’s fallen from so called grace. She has a chance for greatness, and in truly helping herself…she would ultimately be helping others in the process…just thinks of all the dually diagnosed teenagers in this world that would look up to her and follow her lead…so I pray she is able to ask for guidance and continues to live God’s will for her.

She’s young and she’s in the middle of an emotional breakdown.
No and yes.
Yes, she is in the middle of an emotional breakdown, her behavior of the last year has definatly shown that.
But no, she is NOT young. She is a grown woman. Youth is not an excuse here.
Let’s at least allow her the dignity of being what she truly is, an adult. An adult with problems, yes – but still an adult.
That said, it’s my prayer that she and her children find health and safety in their lives and in God’s hands.

beautiful brittany – and my stomach hurts every time I hear another story of her antics.
I believe she needs to slow down and do her grief work, something our society knows very little about. and something we seem to be terified to do.
I stopped being party girl years ago – forced to do the grief work – feared it would kill me – and it set me free. now I can party – or not – it’s not a need or a compulsion. God is a great help. understanding people and lots & lots of hugs help. the news media does not help, nor all the curiousity seekers.
God bless Brittany & I pray she finds her way through soon and without irreversible damage to herself or anyone else.

The only thing I’m praying is that Britney Spears will sober up, put her clothes on, and exit the limelight graciously with some dignity. All that exploitive self-denigrative exhibitionism was cute when she was a teenager chasing Prince William. But, she is now a grown woman with two kids of her own. She’s drinking, drugging, shop-lifting, and faking an accent to substantiate her craziness. I live with the consolation that, if she looked like America Ferrara and carried on like this, six strong attendants from the psych ward at Sedars would have dropped a net on her after her first 45-minute long marriage.
Britney does not have my sympathy. I can’t empathize with anyone who is famous only for being a ridiculously well compensated sex toy. She has not bettered anything about herself but her income with all the opportunity her franchise has afforded her. She is mindlessly ruining her own life and squandering her youth. And, for what? To be digitally captured in a security cam photo-shoot for the National Enquirer, high as kite, wearing no underwear, babbling incoherently in a fake British accent, while shoplifting at some gas station in Encino? Please!
Granted, as an exploited teen, there were a lot career moves thrust upon Britney over which she had no control. But, once she hit the age of concent, there was no reason nor excuse for her lunging headlong into hedonistic decadence they way she did. She and her family overran all the limits of reason in every conceivable way before exploring the outrageousness of the utterly ridiculous. Now, the Spears family needs the prayerful intervention of good Christians, having been savaged by satan at the pinnacle of their devilish pursuits. Now that the baby is preggers, the likes of K-Fed has been deemed by the State of California to be the more competent parent of Britney’s two kids, Mom has slept with Brit’s boyfriends, and dad has squandered a good chuck of that fortune the girls were all but whored in Hollywood to garner, the Spears need our prayerful intervention. This trashy collective have offered nothing constructive to society. NOTHING AT ALL! Despite being fortunate enough to enjoy advantages and amenities most will only dream about, have done nothing but perpetuate the vicious cycle of Hollywood’s riotous ignorance with no sense of shame or regret.
Why should I wear myself out, rending my garments, fasting, on my face in sackcloth and ashes before the Lord, all for this bunch of flagrant heathens? If the Spears family really wanted to make a change, they would be just as committed to sincerely seeking God for forgiveness and direction for themselves as they have been to pushing thier own daughters into the fleshly open markets of the entertainment industry for a lousy buck. Furthermore, Britney is a grown woman. It’s time for her to wake up and be a woman. She’s no longer a teenager. Britney is legally responsible for the consequences of her own actions and all her horrendous decisions. Adoring fans need to demand Britney grow the heck up and knock all this unnecessary idiocy off before she finds herself hanging with Marilyn, Elvis, and Anna Nicole. They too were overindulged hedonists who couldn’t say no the siren’s call to abuse themselves in the entertainment lifestyle that subsequently destroyed them.
If Britney is going to be redeemed, let her decide to seek prayer and intervention. All the prayer and intervention in the world will not do her a nickel’s worth of good if she is not sincerely seeking it. And, she’s not. This craziness is not Britney’s cry for an intervention. Right now, Britney is obviously getting a great charge out of being an obnoxious a$$ in the tabloids for whatever her publicist can get for the pictures. has either escaped or evaded the best help and treatment money can buy just to show up in some public place to photographed behaving deplorably. In my estimation, if Britney Spears isn’t going to focus on developing some valuable entertainment talent and advancing her career beyond this silliness, she needs to RETIRE, graciously and PROFESSIONALLY fading into obscurity with dignity and self respect. Until then, though, Britney really needs to put her clothes back on, sober up, grow up, and stop embarrassing herself.

brit need serious guidance because it’s clear that she doesn’t have it. As a mother, she need to get a clue becase it’s not about her anymore it’s about the kids, that’s my personal belief. It’s obvious this is how she grow up, we do things we see as kids and sometime it effect us as adults.
