“Amazing Grace (My Chains are Gone)” by Chris Tomlin is my favorite Christian song. I heard it on KLove on my way home from church one Sunday and it turned my life around. I have been a church goer and believer for some time now but never knew or felt the Holy Spirit. I truly believed there was something wrong with me and maybe I just wasn’t putting enough into my faith. I had doubts and Satan was definitely working in me. I heard that song and I knew in my heart what I needed to do. I went back to church that evening and rededicated myself to God. “My Chains are Gone” and I have it by His good grace and His Word that I will overcome and He will do my suffering for me as He does for each & every one of us. When this world is gone I see Heaven in my future. How Awesome is that and how many in the world today can say the same? I can only put my testimony and my faith out there for everyone to see and I believe with this song out there many, many others will be touched by it and called to His Glory. My best friend, Felisha, and I sang it at church the following Sunday evening and during invitation many were brought to the altar. God is great and I am so glad “My chains are gone”. Thank you!

Amazing Grace is my favorite song. My mother and husband loved the song also and it was played at both of their funerals. My husband died 18 years ago and the song Amazing Grace is what got me the hard times of losing him at such a young age and it helped me through my mothers. I felt lost when both died. Also when I am having test run this is the song I sing in my head to get me through them.

My favorite song is by Nichole Nordeman, “No More Chains”.
It talks about how she lost herself in small pieces over time. I as well had lost myself and my life in small pieces overtime and never even realized what was happening till it was about all gone. I traded God’s love for a heavy chain and added another link of burden, guilt, shame, deceit, corruption, selfishness, hate, anger, and on and on with every day pulling it up and down mountains. The chain kept getting longer and longer. I felt like I wanted to scream and cry and as the song goes, “Making her want to scream no more chains. Wanting to see them fall away no matter if they are big or small.” She like myself, wanted to break free from the garbage of the World and be free from the constraints and unnecessary chain. Some days it felt like it was so tight around my neck I couldn’t breathe. In the song she wonders if the choice was her’s. I thought the same… I thought I was doing right by living for the promotion by having more material possessions, that I was defined by man-made things. My attitude and personality was hard and one that I thought I was above most people. Then I saw as well as she did that the door was open she and I both walked inside, noone had her arm twisted and noone had mine twisted, noone had made her stay and noone made me stay, the face of freedom can show up small. My freedom came when I went with that inside knowing of what God’s path was for my life. I gave up the World my 6 figure job, my huge house, my selfishness, my hard attitude… it was like she explains a tiny crack in a prison wall, and a voice rising up inside her, NO MORE CHAINS. She wanted God to give her wings and let him set her free. I let God give me my wings April ’07. I have been in total reliance on God to help me survive the past year. Looking back at the amazing turns he has given me I totally believe I will never be left stranded he has kept me afloat on his hand. Some say you have to go deep for God to move you. I am definitely his pawn my heart is mush and my wings are growing with time. He is priority one in my life :)

I love Ginny Owen’s “If You Want Me To.” It is like a reality check for me. It reminds me that God rules my life, not me. He already knows the journey I’m on and I need to remember that He is always with me and will never leave me. God is “not through with me yet.” I will be on this earth just as long as I’m supposed to be, and that I am not “of this world.” The trials and troubles of this life are all a part of the plan and I should use them to glorify God and remember how He suffered for me. I will go where He wants me to be and sincerely try to accept the hardships that befall me, knowing that when this short life is over I will spend eternity with Him.

There are so many beautiful hymns out there, but my very favorite is: When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. The first time I heard this hymn was just after I became a Christian. The words really spoke to me! I had to learn to get rid of my pride, and this hymn underlined that fact for me! After all, just what did I have to boast about? JESUS did it ALL! He was the one who hung on that cross bearing all my sins! How did He do this? Because of His Great Love for me, and for all of you out there! Yes……because of this great love He CAN DEMAND my soul, my life, my all!!! Thank you, Jesus for such great love!

My absolute favorite Christian song is “Did You Feel the Mountains Tremble”. The lyrics are amazing and just a reminder of how great that day will be when Jesus makes his way back to Earth to take His followers home. The best part of the song is the lyrics “Fling wide your heavenly gates, Prepare the way of the risen Lord”. In my church, whenever we sing this, the men just SHOUT these lines and it is amazing to hear such raw emotion coming from the men of our church. Any song that can give me chill bumps everytime I hear it and sing it is among my favorites but this one ranks the highest.

I may stumble and fall and Jesus will always be there to pick up the pieces and reshape me. It says over and over he molds me and makes me into his likeness he fashions the clay. When I stumble and fall , he just picks up the pieces he doesn’t throw the clay away.Thank you Jesus.

It starts I traded my sins for salvation, how true this is still today, all we have to do is trade in our sins for a wonderful salvation paid for by Jesus.

I love contemporary Christian music and listen to it every day. One of my many favorites is, “Ready to Fly” by FFH. Even though I am only 52 years old and in good health, I have asked my family to play it at my funeral. As much as life dishes out, “I’m ready to fly. I’m ready to soar. I’m ready to leave this world behind, I’m ready to open up the door. I’m ready to fly. I’m ready to spread my wings across the sky. I think it’s time. I’m ready to go, I’m ready to fly!” (as the song says). It is very uplifting for me to envision myself “flying” to meet my Lord and Savior. Not only that, I want my family and friends to hear the song and know that I was “ready” and to give them hope and peace in their own lives. I love life, but we have the promise of so much more in heaven. Praise God!

I have 2 favorite songs My Jesus by Todd Agnew and I can only imagine by Merci Me. The first is all too true. There is no way, with our churches all sparkley, shiney and clean, that someone who has no shoes and feet are soiled, would be allowed inside. And he was not recognizable after they were thru beating him. And the second song depics how feel about what heaven will be like and how i will feel when i finally get to see my lord face to face. How awesome a day that will be.

As I sat praying during the funeral I thought “OH LORD LET ME KNOW HE IS IN HEAVEN WITH YOU” the singing started and that song began to play. That was my answer and I praise God for his sweet reply.

Our faith needs to be built on solid ground and I believe music has a great role in doing this. Many songs can do this for all of us. When I listen to music my favorite depends upon the season and where I am in my life. On Easter morn there is nothing anymore beautiful than all my church family sing He Arose. This song says it all and lets us know who loves us more than anyone can imagine. Powerful! Open The Eyes Of My Heart, helps me to see things more clearly and fills me with God’s love. Lord I Lift Your name on High Is a wonderful Praise Song. Thanks Be To God!!!!! I could go on forever. Music reaches everyone of all ages and can be meaningful no matter what stage you are in your life. Music is so beautiful and meaningful I Can Only Imagine what’s ahead.

When I was a community activist fighting for quality education in my school district, an employee and union president of this same district~~going to work each day presented battles.
I had brought a a few cds among them was one by Donnie McClurkin. As I drove to work his voice filled the car as if he was sitting in the passenger seat~~singing “STAND”. I don’t remember how I continued to drive~~the words of this song penetrated the anxiousness I had about this day. What I do remember is I pressed the repeat button as the words~~’let the LORD see you through, after you’ve done all you can just STAND’. My day was fought without tiring and victoriously.
This song became my battle song for the days I faced. With enemies surrounding me on all sides during my days and nights~~I would hear this song in my head and move forward. When things got tough, I heard ‘tell me what do you give when you have given your all and seems like you can’t make it through? Well you just Stand when there is nothing left to do you~~just Stand watch the LORD see you through. Yes after all you’ve done all you can just Stand.’
While talking to a good friend of mine I told her about the song~~she laughed, telling me this was the Pastor of the church she was trying to get me to attend for months. I did attend this church with the prompting of another friend nearly a year after my first friend’s attempts. Pastor McClurkin is spirit filled, Bible based preacher and teacher as well as a gifted singer. Within a few months I became a member of Perfecting Faith Church~~Standing.

My favorite hymn is “in the Garden” because Jesus is talking with the Lord knowing His time for betrayal is near. So whenever I walk through a garden or a park or even a grove of trees, I can see Jesus on his knees with bloody sweat running from His brow and I know if He can do all that He did for me, I can surely love Him and praise His name for dying for my sin debt. So seeing flowers or all the beauty that surrounds us reminds of Jesus on His knees in the garden praying to our Father, who created us and loves us unconditionally if we only give our hearts to Him.

My favorite is “The Happy Song”. When I grew up in church, most of the songs were always with an organ and/or choir and were hardly upbeat. Since I have always been an optimistic person, this song hit home for me. As Christians, we should always be happy, upbeat, and positive about life and what is to come. I wish more churches would play this song and its like.

I like all of Michael W. Smith’s songs, but my favourite is Lord Have Mercy and he is accompanied by Amy Grant, very moving song, because we need to ask for God’s forgiveness everyday of our lives. It just makes me want to empty myself to God, remove every sin and stain from my soul, and fill me with His Grace and Love. Especially now at this time of Easter we need to come clean with God, accept Jesus as our Savior and Lord, and ask Jesus to come into our hearts and make his home in us. But first we need to ask for forgiveness and mercy, and let Jesus take control. God Bless you all and Happy Easter.

I believe singing is the gift that the Lord gave to me to freely give as a ‘service’ to inspire others (as well as myself). This song means so much because it speaks out loud what my heart quitely sings to me throughout the day. I associate that song with the following scripture which brings me joy: The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation -Psalm 118:14. From: His humble Servant, SaTodd

I love Ginny Owens’ music. She is a very talented, unique artist … she doesn’t just blend in with all the other Christian music. My favorite song of hers is called “Wonderful Wonder”. I love it so much because the words talk about how it feels to be blind (Ginny is blind) yet still appreciate the wonder of God & His amazing creation. It’s so meaningful to me because I teach deaf children and recently had a deaf/blind student for 4 years. The cool thing was that when I first heard this song on my way home from work I didn’t even know she was blind yet I was picturing my deaf/blind student singing this song in Heaven. My favorite phrase is when she talks about reaching Heaven & “not needing her faith anymore”. That will be awesome! Because having faith is not always easy…although it’s so worth it!

My favorite song is by Casting Crowns called “Voice of Truth”, as we all have those voices within. The voices that tell us how we are not worth while and are less in value, I have struggled hearing within myself at times with inward negative thoughts. But when the song “Voice of Truth” came on, those devaluing thoughts lost their hold. As I listened to the words, I cried and prayed to God to forgive me and realised my value. For God speaks truth and there is where I receive value. Thank you Casting Crowns for a song that is a blessing to me in remembering my true value. I am blessed by the Voice of Truth that is spoken to me by the cross and a reminder in song the song by Casting Crowns. So when dark thoughts come friends listen to this song and allow God to work in your heart and soul to move toward truth. Blessings.

“The Greatest Story” by Avalon touches my heat. Many times have I needed the reassurance that there is design to my life. Who among us has not? The line that states ” You cannot see the hands of God or feel the Grace that flows from Him through you to those you touch in ways you’ll never know” challenges me to continue in His Service, despite my frustrations. The image of my life as a part of a tapestry that I will see someday when I am in my Father’s House stirs me. It fills my chest with deep, cleansing breath that I can only describe as renewal. What a blessing! What a joy! I am not to judge other, but I not to judge myself as well. I am part of a greater whole, a character in the continuing Passion of Christ, the greatest story ever told. If I had to pick any one song that touches me every time I hear it, it would have to be place in this world. Every time I hear it it reminds me that I do have a reason and a place, and it’s the one that God has purposed for me. Kind of makes me feel like all of the little things that are troubling me are really insignificant because I am always right where God wants me to be.

Everytime I hear “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” I feel the love my Lord and Savior has extended to me since I was born again. It reminds me of the bondage I was under and keeps reminding me of what God has removed from my life. A near daily reaffermation of the the love God gives me.

My favorite song is ” You are Holy” I had been away from church and the lord for so long and was brought back by the innocence of my 7 year old daughter who asked why we never went to church. So without good reason, we found a church and started going together. The first song we sang together in church was you are holy and she still sings it everyday, usually along with her veggie tales CD. We sang together and I began to realize what was missing in my life and found it in a new church , my daughters happiness in finding the Lord and an awesome song.

MY FAVORITE CHRISTIAN SONG IS “HE NEVER PROMISED THAT THE CROSS WOULD NOT GET HEAVY” BY JASON CRAB BECAUSE LAST YEAR WHEN MY MOTHER WAS TERMINALLY ILL WITH LUNG CANCER, WHEN I LISTENED TO THAT SONG IT GAVE ME SO MUCH HOPE. I KNEW EVERYTIME I HEARD IT THAT GOD WAS IN CONTROL AND THAT HE KNEW BEST AND SHE WAS GOING TO BE WITH HIM. I KNEW THAT NO MATTER HOW HEAVY MY CROSS SEEMED HE WOULD SEND HELP WHEN I NEEDED IT MOST AND HE ALWAYS DID. THIS SONG IS SUCH AN INSPIRATION AND I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT IT GOT ME THOUGH!!!

One of my favorite songs is Randy Travis’ “Three Wooden Crosses”. I was stationed in France years ago and about three miles from the small base I was stationed at along the side of the road were three wooden crosses, which represented the death of a husband, his wife and a small little girl killed by a drunk driver. I was stationed in France during the time that it happened. Three Wooden Crosses has always reminded me of the tragic accident that took the lives of these three precious people. May God Bless their families for the loss of their loved ones.

My favorite Christian song is “I can only imagine” by Mercy Me. I received the song from my sister shortly after the tragic and sudden death of our 7 year old son, Daniel, who was hit by a truck and killed while bicycling near our home. I loved the Lord and knew Daniel had loved Him too but I had a real need to know what Heaven was like and my sister thought it would help. I have to say when I heard the song all I could do was cry and praise God that He so beautifully comforted my heart beyond imagination in such a time of need. Praise the Lord!

First I must say that nothing thrills me more than hearing these songs on television playing as advertisements. Sandi Patti ha been one of my favorite singer. Each time I hear her voice i just open myself to the Lord withthe wish that i could go to heven right away. This albun all hte songs are great. They are all worship songs with true meaning and give you the sense of devotion. The first time i heard these songs I was so elevated. within myself i wanted to sing the songs just the way i heard them. So i toll Sandi Patii’s song and practice and and that was when i knew i had it in me to sing. This cd has great songs, and even if you were not a singer the way they make you feel when you hear them , believe me you will sing them too straight to the T.As much as I love the other songs, Sandi Patti is the most touching for me I love her from way back then and i still love her now, and her songs keep me going and always makes me think of my God in everything I do.

I can only get WBOZ-FM on my computer and it is my favorite Christian radio station, so you can only imagine that where I spend a lot of my time. I sit here with the radio on and listen and read most of the time. One of my favorite songs is ” Might Go Home Today” by the Bradys. I can only picture what a glorious sight that will be when I get to be home with Him!

I was saved in 2005, and the first song that moved me in the Spirit was How Great Is Our God, THE COMBINING OF THESE 2 WONDERFUL SONGS ALWAYS MOVES ME SOO MUCH.I could and still can listen to it over and over and it always brings me into a deep presence with the LORD.

My favorite song is Chris Tomlin’s Amazing Grace-My Chains Are Gone. My father suffered a brain tumor 9 years ago. One day, I went to help take care of him when my aunt was wringing her hands while my father lay in bed screaming out of his head. She said they didn’t know what to do. So, I went in and closed the door behind me. He barely knew that I was there. I spoke softly holding back my tears and asked him to sing with me. He said that he only knew one song-”Amazing Grace”. We sang together that song. It was as if a full orchestra was playing along and we sang in perfect harmony. He stayed calm and it made him happy for a moment almost forgetting about his condition. It was the last time we sang together. He passed away less than 2 weeks later. For a long time, everytime I heard that old hymn, I burst into tears. When the song came out, I felt like it was God’s way of saying that it was time to let go. I sang it in church one Sunday feeling a freedom I had never felt. I now sing it as much as I can with joy in my heart.

So many different songs touch me in different ways. The most soul enriching and uplifting for me is “I Can Only Imagine” by MercyME. Everytime I hear this song the hair stands up on the back of my neck and I feel so victorious. The very thought of that day, being before God and wondering how I will respond verifies to me the amazing gifts that God gives us. I feel the awesomeness of my maker and at the same time the joy I understand God has in my question of “how to react” in his presence. As I get older I am so thankful for the everyday miracles that I took for granted at a younger age. I am also so inspired by the blessings I am afforded and so encouraged by having a God that knows me, loves me, and is always there for me. I honestly can only imagine the pure joy of that day when I am before Him who has made all things and on that day still offers even more. Eternity in his presence. I am not sure of my response, but I am glad I have an eternity to make the response. To God give the glory. Thanks!

The church I used to go to just sang the old Christian hymns. I moved away and started at a new church that has contemporary services. Even during the regular services they sing newer Christian songs and bring in traveling Christian groups to sing. I have songs going through my head now during the day and they are mostly Christian songs. I love the church services now and the music is fantastic. I can’t seem to get enough Christian music. Our house burnt down Feb. 12, 2005 and I was so worried my religous cd’s were gone. To my amazement 3 of them did not burn and I bought a cd player right away. The cd’s helped to give me strength after the fire. Glory to God.

I was so excited about the cd’s that I forgot to mention my favorite songs. One is Open the Eyes of My Heart. It makes me uplifted. Another one is Here I am Lord. Another one is He by Jars of Clay. I’ll lead you Home is another favorite. Three old favorites are ‘Amen”, How Great Thou Art and Rock of Ages. The last two were played at my grandparents funerals and really touched me.

One of my favorite songs of praise and worship is called “yesterday”
this song was sung by Mary Mary. It is my favorite because I have lots of personal and health issues. The first time I heard this selection it caused something to shift in my spirit. I listen to this song almost everyday, when I feel I am just about out of steam and can`t go on, then I began to cry, but when I listen to this which states so clearly…. “I CRIED MY LAST TEAR YESTERDAY” I began to realize there are people in this world much worse off then I, and remind myself I cried my last tear yesteday, it gives me a renewing of my thoughts and feelings. There are people who are in much worse shape than me and they seem to find a way of happiness and a day long smile. Feelling sorry for yourself only makes your issue worse and invites the devil in to get you to intertain thoughts of taking your own life, because you feel there is no hope or cure. But to those whom feel this way, I recommand that you take a listen to this and count your blessings and Know that God has your back, your front and both sides of you. And cring maybe good for a moment but the feeling of Gods best for you lasts a life time..

One of my favorites is a song sung by Carrie Underwood that crossed the charts called “Jesus Take the Wheel”. To me that says it all in a nutshell. Sometimes things in our life just get to be too much and we become overwhelmed. Or there is a situation that we realize that we have no control over, and that’s when you have to say (if you haven’t already)God you take over, you take the wheel, you know what direction my life should go. It’s time to give it to God, to learn to trust and lean on Him. I myself have found myself singing this song in
many trying and difficult situations
Another song I like is sung by Nicole C. Mullins, “Redeemer”. This is
a song that inspires hope. Hope that we have because we have been redeemed. Set free. We can all be freed from whatever life tries to throw at us because we have hope. A lot of people have lost their hope, and seem to live in a hopeless world, working for hopeless causes. Our hope is in Christ, our Redeemer. We have a blessed Hope!

Amazing Grace– It was sung at my grandpa’s funeral many years ago. An absolutely beautiful rendition of the song…as though an angel were singing. It was inspiring, comforting, and peaceful– all at the same time.

My favorite is “I Will Listen” by Twila Paris. It includes the lyrics “This is where I stand until he leads me on, and I will listen to His voice”. I have sung this song as a special in church several times over the past few years; each time, because I am in a different place in my walk with the Lord, it speaks to me in a different way. Twila Paris has a way of reaching my soul with her lyrics; she is my all-time favorite Christian artist.

My favorite song by far would have to be “Sea of Faces” by Casting Crowns. You see my only brother was diagnosed with schihzrophrenia and mixed Bipolar I about five years ago. Considering he is only 29 this was very devastating for our family, especially me. I have watched him suffer devastating symptoms both terrifying and sometimes dangerous to his health. When he gets in “those moods” he thinks we are all out to hurt him when we really just love him and want to help him. He moved in with me for about a year because the mental care in my area was so much better and about that same time this song came out. I cannot tell you the emotions this song stirs in my soul, not for me but for him. His suffering makes him believe no one cares, not even God. I played it over and over and hand-picked bible verses for him because that was my only way of helping him. Though he has his ups and downs now I can say he is stabilized but every time I hear this song I only think of my little brother.

My favorite song is “The Old Rugged Cross”. It lets me know that no matter how dark I feel my life is, Christ went through so much more for me: He was much more misunderstood, faced more opposition, and loved his accusers in the face of so much hatred that I’m humbled. It helps me put the circumstances in my life into perspective.

I like the song “I can only imagine”!! We walk this path of christian faith, never thinking all that the Lord has given us in exchange. We use his trees for shelter, we breathe his air for life, we use his water for survivial, and we take his grace and mercy for granted. If I could imagine him in any form, it would be as it is now, the enviroment, where he whispers to me through the wind, chastises me through the storms, and comforts me by the gentle motions of His waters.

I am 78 years old and have served the Lord Jesus Christ since i was five years old.
It gets sweeter every day, if you talk with Him every day.
I went to bed and begin to think of old songs like Blessed Assurance, take up your cross, I traded my sins for salvation-I sure got the best of the trade. I love to worship Him in the early morning. He refreshes my heart and mind with words like the 143 Psalm
where the psalmist says, Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning. We might age but, he never grows old.
Does anyone know thw thw words to the song ‘I traded my sins for salvation’ I would love to have them.
