Ben Barnes: From Boy Band to ‘Prince Caspian’

posted by shuang | 12:51pm Wednesday May 14, 2008

Who knew a Narnian prince was a triple threat? Before he landed his first Hollywood lead role, actor Ben Barnes (Prince Caspian in the new “Narnia” movie sequel) was singing and dancing in a British boy band called Hyrise. Performing the mildly racy song “Leading Me On,” Hyrise competed to represent the UK in 2004 during the annual Eurovision Song Contest (think “American Idol” meets “Making the Band“). Perhaps we’ll see Barnes in a movie musical in the near future–”Oklahoma,” anyone?Watch a YouTube clip of Ben Barnes talking about Hyrise and belting out “Leading Me On.”

I think that is great that Ben is now known in the world and that he will continue to rise in good movies and I can’t wait to see him in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader. It’s coming out May 7th, 2010 as far as they have said. Plus, Ben is cute too!

First of all I think it is great that Ben got the part in the narnia movie. I hope it does wonders to his career and it probably will. Although I am sure it will be shocking for him as well to be this famous and swooned over by a bunch of teenage girls. As for him being in a boy band that was just for fun and now it would be embarrasing for him for sure.
