Celebrity Spiritual Diagnosis: Gwyneth is a Trascendentalist

posted by Paul O'Donnell | 12:00pm Tuesday May 6, 2008

gwenpalpic.jpgWe know the convictions of Travolta and Tom, Madonna and Val Kilmer, but rank-and-file celebrities are so vague about their spiritual leanings it’s hard to know which faith we’d put them into, but comments by Gwyneth Paltrow to the British teen mag Heat last week convince us that we can make the call: Paltrow is a Transcendentalist. “What I believe is that Mohammed and Jesus and Buddha and Shiva are all the exact same thing: an energy, our link to something larger than ourselves,” she told Heat. “I do believe there is something out there and you can channel that energy.”

These comments put the star directly in the tradition of Ralph Waldo Emerson and his cohort who split from basic Massachusetts Unitarianism back in the mid-19th century, who believed that all religions were one and that we could best see the divine by examining nature. For the record, Paltrow was raised Jewish by her actor father Bruce Paltrow (who, according to Heat, “is descended from a Russian dynasty of rabbis”).

The comments here seem to be relating only to a third rate realization of transcendental reality.
The energy is defined as Brahman, the effulgence, or light, spiritual energy of transcendence. Above that realization is Paramatma, the personal form of the Supreme. Next, is the ultimate realization of the transcendental, Bhagavan, the original parabrahman supreme person, known by many names, KRSNA being the topmost. All according to the Vaisnava Achrayas in disciplic succession!

I look at religion or a spiritual connection as – there obviously was a reason and purpose for us to be here – and according to our intelligence and beliefs, we should do the best we can while we are here, to be kind and productive with the gifts that were given us. We can put labels and words on any beliefs we have, but it all boils down to the same, to be productive and kind! Lee

I respect EVERYONE’S belief in a purposeful life. Let’s allow Ms. Paltrow her “transcendental” belief in a “Higher Power,” but as scripture says, “No one gets to the Father but through Me.” A hard-core belief – and faith – in Christ – is what is required for us to cope and get through this life in one piece.
When I pray, I pray to the Lord. And – I believe – and have faith – that He hears me. The prayer does not have to be audible; a silent “urging” is all that is required. But – unless you HAVE this faith that God “hears” prayer – all entrities will be in vain.
Our Founding Fathers believed in – “One Nation, Under God” – why is that so HARD to accept?

“One Nation, Under G-d” was added in the 1950. The Founding Fathers, products of the Enlightenment, would be more likely to use “Creator,” or “Providence.”
You know, “One Nation, Under Providence” is rather catchy!

The belief in someone, something, bigger than ourselves, could be the first step to realizing the self. Just as the air, water, soil, and sun are a part of the growth of vegetation, and survival of all things, each needs the other. We simply could not exist if even one of these things were missing. Just as we are separate from one another, so are these energies, yet we need one another to exist. Think of our body. We need all the chemistry, the blood, the oxygen, the veins and arteries, the bones etc. to make this body function. Even the smallest cell in the little toe is necessary. Think of Godsource as a large body, and each of us making up the chemistry of that body. In that way we become one. a community in harmony for the purpose of something greater. To survive, we need to appreciate the value of each other in the big picture. Though I may be a white blood cell and do not function anything like a red blood cell, I must appreciate the greater purpose that we both serve, differently. As long as we do not take power over one another, we serve the greater purpose. Or, we destroy each other, and our greater purpose.

There is a higher source. Look into soul teachings and view this documentary film Soul Masters.
Soul Masters is finally a clear window into soul teachings, an area which to date has been cloaked with riddles, half truths and hidden from all but the very few. This new documentary film is a teaching of profound wisdom yet simply delivered without any veils. As you watch you can feel the truth in it… My clients and students alike were touched and inspired on many levels, far beyond any expectations. It is not the norm for Masters of such a level to reveal such secret wisdom so freely and completely on matters of healing, purification, enlightenment and the soul. The compassion and commitment of Doctors Sha and Guo is heart touching in its unconditional devotion to humanity. Each time you see Soul Masters you internalize the teachings on a deeper and deeper level. I urge all of you to go to a showing and discussion group or purchase the film and view it many times. http://www.soulmastersmovie.com
