The streets of Jerusalem have been known for centuries: from the stones that speak ancient rhymes to people from different religions as well as for its prophets and would-be prophets, its farmers-turned-kings, and shepherds-turned-leaders. And on Friday afternoon (on which most people don't work--it's like an American Sunday), most people are running around town trying to get to all the stores they need to get to before they all close for the Jewish Sabbath. Eateries and bars which want to keep their kosher certification are not open on Shabbat, and often shutter their doors at the close of their gangbuster business on Thursday night, and prepare for the post-Sabbath crush of company and demand.
But the thing about Jerusalem is that it keeps on surprising you.
Today, while half the city was scurrying around looking for last-minute Sabbath purchases, some from the other half were at one of the "non-certified" bars for a "block party": drinking beer by noon, listening to Rebel Sun, a Jerusalem-based rapper (and lead vocalist for local band Coolooloosh), spin old school music, as Jerusalem's kids spent their Friday afternoon breakdancing. At the bar, Zabotinski (named after Zionist leader Vladimir Zev Jabotinsky) some of the dancers worked better on their own, others in duos...and there was at least one team of hip-hop dancers in their teens, wearing matching t-shirts with the name of their troupe (B'Beat, which means "on the beat" in Hebrew). Watch some video of the festivities below.

Now how is it that these Children , these young people can dance and be so happy , revelling in an aspect of a culture that adults there and across a Checkpoint not so far away see as evil. I see no evil here just smiles , I hear nothing But Whistles, cheer and doug-e fresh clearing his throat (edited version of course). Yanno weird thought , maybe we should have the youth of teh world talk this out , maybe teh young who seem to see the world not so much by thier fathers ideas and digma tainted theories (well those who have not become little daddy and mommy clone bots) may the answer is as simple as an old fashions break dance fight (I'll supply all the linoleum they need if it comes to that)
Now I wonder if the armies of thw world would be willing to trad in Weapons of WMD for DNB tracks instead (DnB is Drum and Bass Music it's really good)
I think this is fabulous to show even with the evil around them the people still have high spirits and it is all because we know that the Lord G-D is watching over them. I am a Jew and have friends in Israel and if the people of Israel always lived in fear what's the point in living? Show we are happy and we are not evil people, we can have as much fun as other pwople in the world. G-D says love your neighbors and we try to love instead of making war unless it is deemed neccessary to protect our country Israel. We should all live in peace and harmony but some (evil) people just don't want to--they want hate and war----to hell you the evil let's have fun!!!!!
May G-D Bless Us ALL!!!
