Hulk Hogan Talks God on ‘Larry King Live’

posted by lmarcus | 11:30am Thursday June 12, 2008

2008 has not been kind to Hulk Hogan. His 17-year-old son Nick was racing his car when he caused an accident, crashing into a tree and putting his friend and passenger, John Graziano, into a vegetative state. Since then, Hogan and his wife have divorced each other and coped separately with Nick’s eight month jail sentence. For the first time since Nick’s imprisonment and the release of several father/son phone calls that painted the Hogans in a less-than-flattering light, Hulk gave a public interview. On CNN’s “Larry King Live,” accompanied by his attorney, Hulk spoke about God, prayer, faith in his family, Jesus’ ability to heal, and more. “We [Hulk, Nick, and Brooke Hogan] walk in the spirit of Christ, and we believe for a reason that things happen,” Hulk says, as part of an explanation about whether he feels any guilt about the accident. Watch the clip below for more.

This whole turn of events has come about over choices. Nick chose to race. John chose to ride in what is known as the “suicide seat” with him as he raced. Hulk’s wife chose to leave and attempt to escape this turmoil. I think time will turn this around, but that’s just me. Hulk chose to stay and fight, and I admire him for that. The choices to plan from the jail cell certain moneymakers may not have seemed the kindest, but who knows WHAT to do when your life is turned upside down.
I was very moved by Hulk’s words and I don’t think this is fake.
Yes, the boys made wrong choices. They are paying for their choice in different ways just as my oldest son is paying for choices HE made. I choose to let him pay so that no one else can be hurt.
