Top 5 Worst Reality TV Shows Ever

posted by Kris Rasmussen | 11:51am Tuesday June 17, 2008

TemptationIslandpic.jpgIt’s easy to complain about the glut of reality TV this summer–”Celebrity Circus,” “Wipe Out,” “High School Musical: The Series,” etc. But then I started thinking about it, and really, reality TV has actually improved–generally speaking–from where it started. Anyone remember Darva Conger? How about Joe Millionaire?
So going back in time, here are my top five picks for worst reality TV series. I decided that celebrity reality series are a separate category for me to rant about on another day– look out Paula Abdul– so I stuck to the more generic reality series. Even so, there were many to choose from. As always, feel free to leave your picks in the comment box below.
Temptation Island”: This was the first show to try to profit off of encouraging marital infidelity as hot-looking couples were stranded on an island with other hot-looking couples.

“Who Wants To Marry A Multi-millionaire?”: Yes, this is the original dating reality show that spawned a million other pathetic dating shows. Darva Conger, the bride, didn’t get a husband, but she got big bucks for posing in Playboy after it was all over.
“The Swan”: Slicing and carving women under the pretense that plastic surgery will solve all of your problems, this show was one of the first makeover series on TV.
“The Mole”: No , this show isn’t on the list because it is salacious–it’s because it was just plain boring and I can’t understand why it’s being brought back to TV this summer.
“Mr. Personality”: This show had guys in masks competing for one girl’s attention and had Monica Lewinsky as a co-host. Need I say more?
So what do you think? What’s the worst reality TV show you’ve ever seen?

What?! I love The Mole! Far from being a “reality show” in the usual sense, it’s really an extended game show. My carpool spent ages dissecting every detail of the first series. Never watched the celebrity version, though… that was silly.
And why isn’t Moment of Truth on your list? That show is just sick.

What about “Parking Wars”? I can’t believe I wasted a half hour of my life watching people give out parking tickets on TV! It was as exciting as a trip to the DMV.

All of the above five are really bad shows. But ‘The Bachelor” is really dumb because how can you fall in love on demnd? It just doesn’t work that way. How many couples today from that show are together?? ‘High School Reunion’ on TV Land is pretty lame. Just a bunch of grown ups acting like kids. Gee, there are so many bad ones, maybe it would be better to look for the good ones! Name one?

The stupid The Flavor of Love, Miss New York (same as Flavor of Love — she is one of his rejects), Love for Brett/Brent Michaels, the house where the celebrities stay for I don’t know how many weeks and acted stupid – stupid – stupid. Celebrity Fit is a dumb one too, especially when the guy who played Screech on television. These are just a few of the dumb ones, and I know there are many many more!

The worst to me are the celebrities and their families. Like Dion and Pilar; Run DM, Snoop Doggie. BOR…ING and Living Lohan is incredibly BOR…ING. When will they END!!

Oh come on! What’s The Mole doing on the list. It should have been something like American Idol or that one Survivor Rippoff about Pirates. But I don’t think The Mole should have been on the list.
But personally: I thought the Contestants on The Swan looked better BEFORE the makeover.

Satellite TV providers in the United States of America are enjoying a good ride over customers. With dubious offers, deceptive advertising and futile promises, satellite TV providers have created ripples in the nation. It has become difficult for people at large to decide which provider to pick for their entertainment needs, for they are just losing their faith on these providers. Why? Because of all the controversies have cropped up in the recent past! You must have known from somewhere all about with the malpractices followed by DirecTV. People have brought it to the forefront, so that others can be careful.
