I am a fan of this series as well as Harry Potter. This saga didn’t appeal to me at first but after reading the first book, I was surprised that I have finished reading it overnight and now, wanting for more. So its safe to say that I am now hooked.
Twilight appeals to me because it basically tackles the ageless forbidden romance laced with teen angst and first love. Whoever didnt experienced that? Even though I am no longer a teenager, its nice to recall those days through this book and as well as look forward to my own version of Edward. Though it maybe fantasy, there are messages interlaced within the lines which of course anyone can relate to. Whether they are taken positively or negatively because of the author’s religion, they are there which for me is universal.
I am not keen for the comparison between Twilight and Harry Potter because they are different for each other. They have different messages to tell and they are set for different age genres. I guess the similarities that they have is that they are both fantasies and have millions of fans all over the world. Harry Potter may have paved the way for the success of Twilight, but Twilight can hold on its own and its totally different from Potter.

I love the Twilight books and I love the Harry Potter books, but for different reasons. They are not the same kind of books and I think it’s unfair for people to ask”What series of books do you like more, Harry Potter or Twilight?” To me, that’s like asking people to compare the kinds of music they listen to and find common ground!
I personally have read the Twilight books several times. There is something about the love between Edward and Bella that is so addicting to me! I know it’s not real, but when reading the books, it feels like it’s real and who doesn’t want to be adored like those 2 are?! Some people get lucky and have their own personal Edwards’ and Bellas’ some of us are still waiting and hoping for that day to come. We are not all teenagers either, I’m sometimes afraid to tell people I’m in my 40′s and truly enjoying the Saga. I read for entertainment though and don’t look for lessons to be learned from books, if that’s what I wanted, I would read non-fiction.
I am not a crazy person though. I have loved reading for as long as I can remember and I have “gotten into the character” of a book quite often. It happened when I read Jean Aual’s series on the “Clan of the Cave Bear” things just sometimes touch me.
