Enter to Win: Rebecca St James' New Devotional
Christian pop star and author Rebecca St. James has a long history of promoting chastity, and modesty, in young women of faith. Her latest book, "Pure: A 90-Day Devotional for the Mind, the Body & the Spirit" will be...
"How do you take care of your mind, body, and spirit?"
I take care of my mind and spirit by reading God's word daily, and I take care of my body by exercising weekly.
one stays pure by being accountable to friends, praying/reading the word, walking circumspectly and paying attention to what you read see or listen to. Some times this is hard because we don't want to listen or take advice and sometimes you are stubborn and don't want to change.
But with God's and others help you can do it.
I take care of my mind & spirit by reading the bible daily. This is a refreshing inspiration & very up lifting.I also have little notes of verses or uplifting words posted around my desk like "Romans 12:21 " Don't let evil conquer you but conquer evil by doing good" I get many comments about my notes from other people that read them. For my body I go for a 30 minute to 1 hour walk with my dog everyday in the evening if the weather permits & on the weekends we go on bike ride when the weather isn't to hot.
Living a pure life starts with wanting to live your life for God. It's about dying to your flesh; and desiring to be MORE like Him.
I wasn't raised in a Christian home, so it has been a journey of 'renewing my mind daily' to the things of God.
Accountability has been a huge stepping stone to helping me to live a victorious life in Christ.
Prayer & fellowship with other believers.
Worship, worship and more worship - praising God - anywhere & anytime!
Eating right, exercising, and resting...(still working on these!)
* And accepting God's GRACE & MERCY for my blunders along the way; I tend to be hard on myself! *
My Husband helps me with this! One night a week, Wednesdays, I am free from kids and Husbands and laundry and so on and I get to go be a real adult and participate in an amazing Bible Study. In addition to my devotional time and normal Sunday worship, it's really what keeps me going.
to take care of your mind, body and your spirit. Is by fasting and prayer and studing the word.
How do I take care of my mind? By always being open to learning new things, whether that be a new song, or a different way to do a task at work, or a new idea proposed by someone I respect. And of course by listening to and learning from the One I respect most - my Lord God.
Having lost 60 pounds last year, I have learned the importance of taking care of your body with proper diet and exercise. If I want to be as God's temple, I must not fill it with trash!
My Spirit is refreshed most by music. Our local contemporary Christian radio station is the only one on my play list. When I hear a song that speaks directly to me, it is like God has created that song just for me.
I also am refreshed by God's creation. When I sit and watch a beautiful sunset, I praise God for creating that picture. In past travels I have seen His glory in mountains, mirror lakes, rainforests, and in the smallest of flowers. His love for us as demonstrated by His creation continues to feed my spirit.
It is an everyday process for me and some days I fail miserably. Each day I try to lay my life at Jesus' feet and adjust to the direction He needs me to go in by studying not just reading His word daily, filling my mind with spiritual songs, hymns and praises and blocking myself/mind from daily sins-gossip hearing, being halfway there for someone, worldly wants, me pity, lust and anger. For Jesus doesn't adjust to me. He will be with me where I am in what struggle I am going through. I exercise my working out on my gazelle while listening to great preachers, musicians, singers and scriptures. As my body grows stronger, my mind and spirit grow spiritual strong for the battles of this world. I love my armor!!!
Taking care of my mind, body and spirit is an ongoing progression which sometimes I succeed at and many times I fail at too. I try to remember to cherish the simple joys like family, children, sunshine. I try to do something good so that my spirit will be renewed. Of course going to church is the way I feed my mind and trying to listen and do what we would want. My body, well I have neglected it lately but I am trying to become healthier and more cognizant of what I put in my body. To nourish all three at the same time is easy, music, music music!!
To take care of my mind, body, and spirit, i commune with God. At 21 i am incredibly busy, but at the end of the day I go to my special spot in my back yard just as the sun is sitting, sit on the grass, and just look at the sunset and think about how marvelous God is. I feel like we're just sitting there together by ourselves and there i clear my mind and give him all my problems of the day. Taking that special time and place with God renews my mind body and spirit everytime!
GreetingsInTheNameofOurLord&SaviourJesusChrist,I am writing today because I need prayer a trillion more today than yesterday. For some unknown reason I stay tired almost all of the time,I only live 2 blocks from my church and I do not have enough energy to go to any of the services and I do not believe this can be blamed on menopause, however,I am not 100% sure about this.Another things I needs prayers is the fact that I am own SSI/SSD and I get food stamps and live in Section 8 apartment building, but I still have to go to food pantries and soup kitchens for food, this past Tuesday when I went for food there were at least 23 people in ahead which is strange,as well scary, because the church doesn't start giving food until 11:00 and got there at 10:15 so we really to pray for almighty god divine intervention his divine providents into the lives of those on fixed-incomes,the poor, the homeless, the alcoholics, the drug-addicts and those who have lost their jobs and the who are on unemployment and last but not least I need prayer that went I go to Trenton,NJ to apply for a grant that I will be very successful it this endeavors. Thanks A million Dorothy E.Jackson signing in ASBURY PARK,NJ

How do I take care of my mind, body and spirit?
First: Giving honor and all praises to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Since my family and I have made it thur Hurricane Katrina by the grace and mercy of almighty God with being and continuing to be displaced in Houston,Texas and wanting to return home to New Orleans,La. I have learned that thur all of this that without Faith my
mind would not be clear to hear and obey his word; that without Faith
my body would not have sustained the mental and physical challenges dur
ing Hurricane Katrina and which continue to arise; without Faith my spirt would not be growing vibrant everyday in the Lord.
It is my Faith in God handed down to me from past generations that is sustaining my body mind and my spirit.
how i look after my mind body and spirit is i talk to the lord and offer my self to him i try and maintaine a balance with my children work and social live. When i am having a bad day i play some music or i take time out and see the beauty of the world we live in like the trees birds flowers. i would also have a long relaxing bath with some lavender in. my mind at times gets streesed espeacially when i listen to people talking and its all negative i start to think about a speacial time in my live to help me feel postive again. my body is ok i look in the mirror and know i love myself and god loves me, i try to eat healthy we all faulter sometimes. one thing i know if my mind is not thinking strate my body and spirit are not either it is all about finding a good balance for the individual as we are all unique in the eyes of god
I was 30 when I got married, for the first time. Being a "virgin" (yes, I mean I saved myself mind, body and spirit) was practically unheard of in the mid 1980's. There were temptations left and right, even among my Christian brothers. I raised my two handsome sons to understand the values I prayed would bring them more joy than heartache in their lives and relationships. Their father and I divorced and they thought moving in with their dad, living the fast life, unencumbered by curfews and rules, was more exciting until the fatal car accident last June 10th. On boy was killed on impact, the three other teens suffered critical injuries. My oldest son, the driver, lost both of his legs and sustained permenant spinal damage. A few months later I finally gained the courage to meet the father of the boy who was killed. We shared our grief and tears and decided to work together to save the lives of other kids. Mind, body and soul. We were married 9 months later and now work full time reaching out to teens and their parents promoting the Alex Ervin Foundation in Charlotte, NC, in memory of our children. Last year we spoke to over 6000 students and family members at various assemblies. This year, with God's help, we hope to reach over 12,000.

I word love to have your book to help me in my walk with the lord. I give my Father all Praises and glory I love the Lord with all my Heart.
I take care of my mind, body and spirit by reading the Bible, focusing on who the Word of God says I am and what I should do in every situation I face; growing in grace and in the knowledge of J.C., my Lord and Savior; by exercising and eating organic & natural foods because my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit; and by allowing God to fill be with His peace that surpasses all understanding and His joy unspeakable and full of glory!!!
I take care of my mind, body, and spirit through Gods inspired word. First, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I do not want to put anything in or on it that the Holy Spirit would not want to live within me. I strive each day to have the "mind of Christ" to feed my mind on spiritual food from the scriptures. My spirit I keep healthy by having the closest relationship with my Heavenly Father. Whatever is in my heart comes out of my speech and I want this to always be glorifying God and all that he has done for his children. I am his child, Jesus died for me and his grace is sufficient. It is all about having this wonderful relationship with the Trinity, a trusting relationship that cannot fail with true faith and love, for God is love. This is real life. Yes I do take care of my mind, body, and spirit through my heart that is so full of gratitude for my Heavenly Father who truly loves me unconditionally.
Well lately I'm just getting back on track. I had a hysterectomy last month and I know I need to get my body completely healthy again. While at work I pop a praise and worship cd into my computer and let the presence of God fill my cubicle as I meditate upon his goodness. That keeps my mind at peace. God has been so good to me and I know I could never repay him for any of His greatness towards me. I just want to take this time and say that God is so worthy of all our praise, glory, and honor and no matter what you may go through God is still able to do exceedingly, abundantly above anything we can think or ask. So knowing that I can keep going, knowing God has my back. You should know that he is no respect of person, he'll do it for you too.
God Bless You
To take care of your mind, body, and spirit you have to have a very close relationship with the Lord. Without that the way the world is today you will fall into a great depression, relationships will fail, and your family will fall apart. Insteed of us trusting in man (flesh) put all your trust in our Father Jesus.
I take care of my mind by reading a lot, including at least an hour every morning with Beliefnet devotionals. That 'gets the positive energies flowing' and it puts me in a positive mindset.
I take care of my body by filling it with 'God's bounty'. I try to put beneficial foods in my body and I give thanks to God for his generous bounty. Whenever I eat, I try to put only healthful and productive 'fuel' in my system. Thus, I feed and nourish myself and don't just eat. I also try to get fresh air and exercize daily.
I feed my spirit by meditating on the devotionals that I have read on Beliefnet. I also say the rosary every day and send positive energies (through my thoughts) out into the universe and to God, asking Him to protect my loved ones, bring peace to this world and in individuals as well as myself, and I give thanks to God for all of his goodness.
I take care of my mind, body, and spirit by going to the cross daily. The cross is the answer for all of my human needs. The cross takes care of my mind by establishing thoughts about how much God loves me by allowing His Son to die there. The cross takes care of my body by showing me that the flesh must be crucified in order to be really free. The cross takes care of my spirit by showing me that obedience to the will of God even if it means suffering, is the only way to live.
I take care of my body by waking up in the morning and giving thanks to God for having another day. Praying this will be a great day, that I may be able to inspire the people that I encounter as the day goes by. I take my morning medication, after eating breakfast and giving thanks that I have something to eat, I take more medication. My medication is strong so to relax my mind for me to concentrate I get online and read my e-mail, giving thanks for friends who write even if it is forward, I enjoy reading Beliefnet, gives me as insight to meditate on during the day, to focus this into my life and to share with others by being an example. As my days goes on with more medication after supper, I give thanks to God for a wonderful day and to be in my life to guide and protect me, for he is the Almighty.
"How do you take care of your mind, body, and spirit?"
What a big question, mind body and spirit encompasses every part of your life. I've found the only true way to keep my body healthy my mind at peace and the Holy Spirit loud in my heart is to talk to the Lord daily. To let Him know that he is the center of my world, that our family (i get married in 25 days!!) will live our lives showing the glory of Gods world through our actions. Daily devotion keeps the line of communication strong. The only way to hear what God is saying is to quiet the mindless chatter of our own selfish thoughts, the only way to have a healthy body is to put your stresses and problems on the Lord, by holding onto them we create so many physical ailments, and the HOly Spirit well he only talks softly so you need to be listening HARD and asking the right questions.
How I take care of my mind, body, and spirit is a process in that it helps for me to go into a quite time to meditate and silence. Laughter is also what helps to quite my mind. :) smile In essence, keeping it simple and know God is in control.
The bible says that I should not be conformed to the world but be ye transformed by the renewing of my mind. That means filling it with God's word. My Body is to be presented as a living sacrafice holy and acceptable unto God and my body is also the temple of the Holy Ghost so I can't fill it with unclean things. So my Spirit needs to line up with the word of God, living, walking, talking, laughing, smiling and all the common things of life like Jesus walked when he was once here. That's my way of putting it, To BE LIKE JESUS.
When I saw this question I started thinking...mind, body,spirit...these are the eccentials of a whole life, Not just a whole life, but an entire lifetime. We do not always adhere to the whole life experience and somethimes we need to return to this way of thinking. God has been there for me in the good and the bad, even IF I did not realize it. He has carried me at times and walked beside me in other times. God has provided foods that he has preparied for us that help to keep us healthy, and then there is food he has had written down that we can only gleen by reading his word, not what others have written about his word, but that litterally comes from his word. God has said that we are not to worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will care for it self. He will provide each day what we are in need of for our use. We must remember this to aid in our daily health, in mind, body, or spirit. As God has cared for me I remind myself God will continue to care for me in mind, body, and spirit, if he carries me or he walks beside me.
I had a serious auto accident, my vertebrea burst in my lower back and i was expected to be wheelchair bound for the rest of my life, My Doctor fused together my bones with a cadaver bone. My life changed dramatically that day. It was a miracle that I was able to get up on my own 2 feet after 2 weeks of laying in a hospital bed. I was in the hospital 6 weeks and had to wear a body brace. As I was in the hospital I experienced a giant hand wave over my body, I could feel the breeze of His mighty hand as it passed over my body. It has been 5 years and I have been working and am able to lead a semi-normal life. I am in pain 24/7. Sometimes it is unbearable so I must take pain meds.It was my faith that I was found at the bottom of a cliff by a young man passing by for I wouild have died in the car. God works through people and that young man was very alert, the doctor and nurses were very experienced and the love of my church family and my own family gave me so much hope.praise the Lord as he has never left my side. I get my strength through prayer. God's Grace is for everyone, even non-believers. I always believed in His miracles but never thought I would need one. Jesus is my Lord and Savior. As I go through life sharing my story I have opened the eyes of many people. Praise be to God. Craig Aubuchon Ventura Ca.
Only Good : PRAYER MORE PRAYER...
I take care of my mind, body and spirit by staying active. Reading, most especially the Bible, strengthens the mind and the spirit. Exersing and walking strengthen the body. Today's society has loosened up on a lot of morals, but it is still important to stay true to the teachings of Jesus. To recieve love, you must give love and I do through my work and my daily life as I reach out to others.
I take care of my mind through daily meditation, continuous learning, and striving to keep a positive attitude. I take care of my body by daily exercise, practice healthy eating habits, and regular visits to my doctor. I take care of my spirit by spending time with God first thing in the morning. I begin by thinking Him for the day. I find my day goes much smoother. My spirit sours when I walk across the room to share the gospel, singing the wonderful hymns in church on Sunday morning, and showing kindness to others. Doing good deeds for others always makes me feel good.
Question - How do you take care of your mind, body and spirit?
First of all, I have to say I am only human and only through the Grace of God do I get through every day. (As far as my mind is concerned,) I think of myself as a positive person. I believe that I am TRULY blessed every day and every hour of the day. God has given me so much to be thankful for that others don't have. I believe that the people in the world in general don't look at what they have been given, but what they don't have that they want.
(As far as my spirit is concerned,) I try to congregate with others of my faith to discuss the Bible and our beliefs and daily try to show others by trying to live a Christian life. It is hard for me as I am the Biblical head of the household as my husband is not saved. I have two son's of which one is saved and the other is not. I know that Christ promises that if I stand on His word that my house WILL be saved.
As far as my body goes, that has been tougher for me. I have had lots of health problems including cancer. I take lots of medication which is not good for my body. I know that my health problems could be solved if I would lose weight. I recently had my thyroid out and I am now in the process of trusting the Lord in helping me to lose the weight I need in order to stop taking ALL of my medication. Like I said, I am a positive person and I know that God says that through Him, ALL things are possible!
I sure could use to learn how to use my body, soul and mind right at this moment. I feel like that God is far from me right at th is moment. I need to concentate on him and get his spirit back i n my life.
I take care of my mind by staying informed as much as possible as to what is going on in this world.I also work a crossword puzzle each day.
I take care of my body by walking and lifting light weights.
I take care of my soul through prayer, bible reading, and helping others as a volunteer in a hospital.
Life is Good.
I take care of my mind, body, and spirit by taking at least five minutes a day to relax, talk to God, and pray for my friends. I also feed my mind by volunteering at the American Red Cross and my local library. You'll be amazed at how good you feel when you spend your free time helping people!
God bless,
Andrea
I take care of my mind, body and soul by first thinking the right way. I believe that all positive thinking would learn you how to have a positive body. My eating and a lot of activities like running reading playing. then. and only then that you will feel good about you mind and spirit.Prayer is the key to maintaning good mind , body , and spirit.
I NOURISH MY MIND @ SPIRIT DAILY WITH DEVOTIONALS, PRAYER , AND A BELIEF SO STRONG THAT IT WILL NEVER WAIVER. I HAVE LEARNED THAT GOD IS SUPREME ALL KNOWING- OMNIPOTENT , YOU SEE I HAVE A LOT TO THANK GOD FOR MY DAD HAS TERMINAL CANCER, STAGE FOUR, SO I HAVE LEARNED TO NOURISH RICHELY. EVERY MOVE I MAKE I ASK GOD TO BLESS , MY DAD WAS GIVEN SIX WEEKS TO LIVE- THAT WAS 3 MONTHS AGO, I BELIEVE THAT CONSTANT ASKING TO BE RENEWED IN SPIRIT IS THE REASON WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN THIS BLESSING. FROM CAM AT 16.
I need to get my mind, body, and spirit on the right road back to the Lord. I seem to wonder too much. I have a wandering mind and will try to relax, which is hard for me to do, and pray to our Lord more. I try to, but then my mind will wander to something else. I also try to get back to the Lord when I first get in bed. I
thank him for all the blessings he has given me but need more spiritual help also. I try to take care of my body by being a Weight Watcher member for several years and seek help from the Doctors when needed. I thank the Lord but not as much as I should. I attend mass on the week-ends but need more spiritual help.
God Blessings to all and pray that God will continue to bless me.
I take care of my mind body and spirit by concentrating first on the grace (god's redemption at christ expense) given to me; putting old things away and rejoicing in my new life in christ; though I am still a work in progress just being able to recognize my blessings rejuvenates me. I have started an exercise program and i am seriously tryng to chhange my eating habits-trying better portion control and healthier choices. Also i am committed to surrouding myself with positive energy-friends, family and church family. Being able to be in a position to help others also contributes to complete and total well being in all areas.
"How do you take care of your mind, body, and spirit?"
MInd and Spirit: Every morning before I step a foot on the floor I ask for guidance and peace. (After I take the puppy out) Then I read one Proverb chapter a day-the one which corresponds to that day, i.e. on the 5th I read Proverbs 5... And pray for help, thanksgiving, and the ability to make a difference in my world. I've had the joy of being able to pray-in public- with a co-worker in need, they came to me. I've had the intellectual discussions over the Pentatuch with another. Wow, you'd never know I worked for a trucking company. :) Then at the end of the day, when all the children are quite and homework is finished, clothes are laid waiting for the next day... I can sit and read to quite my own spirit and talk to Him, work things out from the day and ask for forgiveness for myself, and the ability to give it as well.
Body: exercise (Tae-Bo and Yoga) and healthy eating habits, and recycling where ever I can.
Delissa
My mind body and spirit must be one, that is they must work together as one and although there must be balance, only one part of me can be in control. That is my spirit.Call it mind, will, volition, motive, intent or the sum total of my inner person. My spirit must be fed first and fed the righ thing or all else is only smoke and mirrors. So I feed my spirit good food. That means first I feed my eyes and heart the word of God. I feed my mouth by verbally rehearsing the word of God. Just as Jesus did with the devil I speak the word of God over my situations, circumstances and daily life. I make a covenant with my eyes not to look at anything that might hurt my mind. I set a watch over my mouth so that nothing hurtful or so that no lie will come out of it. I try to think before I speak. I practice the Love of Christ by reaching out to and thinking about others. I practice meditation on what is good, lovely, honest and right. I monitor my emotions and my perception they seldom give me an accurate picture of reality. I worship God through the finished work of His Son Jesus Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit. Worship shows focus; show me what a person is focused on and I can tell you what he/she worships. Finally I eat, sleep and have my leisure time in balance. Humans were meant to be controlled from the inside out, not by surroundings, circumstances or situations. A wound to the body can be healed with righ care but only God can heal a broken or a wounded spirit.
I exercise, try to eat somewhat healthy, and take time for myself every day.
I think I could do a better job, but I do make an effort. In the mornings I wake up and thank God for watching over me while I slept and for bringing me to a new day before my feet touch the floor. At some point before beginning my preparations for the day, I have to acknowledge God. I have a scripture reading then prayer. I ask the Holy Spirit to help me be tuned in. I listen to music that is positive; christian based and secular. Prayer. Reading throughout the day of positive things from people I like such as Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, Marianne Williamson's daily email on A Course In Miracles from O Network, and other stuff that comes into my inbox. Daily confession; speaking scripture and saying good things. Daily seeking and listening. Showing kindness, patience, understanding to others. Meditation. I think it's wonderful that there isn't only one way to nurture our mind, body, and spirit and each of has to find what works best. For me a close relationship with God is best for me before anything else.
Reading the gospel, listening to the gospel and watching the gospel.
Upon waking each day I thank God for awaking me to enjoy the beautiful day he has prepared for me. I say a prayer for the people of the world. I ask God for my duties for the day and my day begins. Before retiring at night I thank God for the beautiful day, ask him for forgiveness for anything that I may have said or done that was not of his will.
I think about everyday how lucky I am! I have been blessed with so much that I try everyday to be a positive force of happiness to all around me. I smile, hold my head up and make my day and those around me a positive one.
I notice the simple things-- I stop my car on the side of the road sometimes to just admire the gorgeous colors of the sunset, I talk to God alot, in prayer, in conversation. I ask him somewhat regularly, "to have a good day." I plan on asking him to come with me and my other friends to have a play date. I believe that the agenda will unfold, but it will be a day of fellowship, fun, prayers, food and fun. He will be our most honored guest.
I am trying to balance my life more. I have always worked hard. I have not always known how to play hard. I am working on that. I really don't want to come to the end of the road and have on my headstone marker--"I wish I could have worked more". :)
I am human. I read my Bible. I sing. I cry. I love. I laugh. I exercise. I "try" to eat right. I am striving to know my Lord much better now, so that when I get to heaven, we can just keep on going.
Balance is a gift. Living more simply is to me, truly abundant living.
And that is what I am doing-well, trying to do--live more simply--to nurture my mind, body and spirit.
When I nourish my spirit, I find that my mind and my body are in tune with my spirit. Nourishing my spirit is simple: prayer, awareness of nature and its beauty, kindness to every person regardless of how they treat me, and giving of myself to others who may need nourishing of their spirit. Daily reflection and self-examination provide a starting point.
