Say what you want about Madonna, but you always know where you stand with her. For instance, whether you're Hitler or John McCain, it doesn't really matter to the controversial Madame Madge: if she goes on tour, you're going in her slide show lead-in to "Like a Prayer."
In case you're keeping track, "Like a Prayer" was a controversial video when it first hit the MTV airwaves in 1989 and has remained controversial for nearly twenty years. Featuring vocals from a gospel choir backing up Madonna, the video also showed religious iconography in non-reverential manners, with statues bleeding and then coming to life and kissing she who is named for the mother of Jesus; then crosses were set on fire.
While it's not clear from the report of the McCain/Hitler visual that Madonna's really trying to equate McCain with Hitler, she's clearly saying "hey, Republican party, do not invite me to perform at your Convention."
Oh, Madonna. Always with the controversy. I guess that's part of the reason we love you.

Can't wait to see it live in Nov!
hell yeah ,that's one of the most reasons we love her .
i mean ,look at her ,could any one of you be like her even in your 40s ???
i will answer that ,NO !
Thank you, that is the funniest thing I've read in a long time.
Comparing John McCain to Hitler.
As for Madonna I think she has alot of backbone and I applaude her
I hope when she gets older that she doesn't regret some of her actions.
Oh yes, I can say this because I'm much older.
Thank you again.
I seem to be alone in this, but having read the lyrics to many of Madonna's songs I have found that these days she speaks seriously, and from the heart. This is especially true since she became a mother. Look at the tender words in "ray of light" that are so personal about the joy she found in Lourdes who she speaks of as a gift.
Since then she has often been quite political as well as a fervent evangelist! This is especially so in her live performances.
I went to see the confessions tour as well as the opening night of the sweet and sticky tour. On both occasions I was bowled over to see biblical scripture, the message of Christ crucified and the need for us to act with urgency in love to meet the needs of others presented. This was going out to an audience of tens of thousands most of whom probably would never have chosen to walk into a church or read the gospel.
Maybe unwittingly, she acheived more real gospel outreach than I will ever see anywhere else! I found myself was praising Jesus there and then. I was full of joy and prayed for the people that they would hear what Jesus has to say to them.
Now I don't really know what Madonna believes, but it seems obvious to me that Jesus has been reaching into her life. My guess is that she has not yet given her live over to Him.
It always troubles me the way many people in the church like to attack from afar not really knowing who Madonna is. Is this the way for a Christian to behave? I would not stand to accuse her because I am in no position to do so.
Who of us can claim to have everything right? We all have and do 'adulterate' with things that are of the world. I say to those of you who hate Madonna - let he who is without sin throw the first stone.
