Okay so Sarah Silverman is known for her outrageous comedy skits but this one tops all: she’s done a video urging all Jews in the United States to take Florida by storm, making a special visit to their Jewish grandparents (all of whom, Silverman says, now reside in Florida) to convince these well-meaning, loving elderly folks to get out the vote–for Obama. And while Sarah Silverman is totally hilarious in this video, she is also totally not kidding about what she is calling “The Great Schlep.” She wants Jews to swing Florida for Obama via their Bubbes! The website of “The Great Schlep” greets visitors with the following message:”The Great Schlep aims to have Jewish grandchildren visit their grandparents in Florida, educate them about Obama, and therefore swing the crucial Florida vote in his favor. Don’t have grandparents in Florida? Not Jewish? No problem! You can still become a schlepper and make change happen in 2008, simply by talking to your relatives about Obama.”You can also “Donate to the Schlep.” And see the video of course (so she says the f-word a couple of times–but we’re all pretty much adults here, right, and can handle this?):And while we’re on the topic of funny Jews getting out the vote for Obama and making funny videos, two of my favorite Jewish friends were rather inspired by Sarah Silverman’s “Great Schlep” this weekend and made a HILARIOUS music video called “Hey Sarah Palin“–re-writing all the words to “Hey There Delilah” by the band, Plain White T’s. So again, there is a couple of f-bombs in there but this is not to be missed:Enjoy! (And please don’t throw eggs at me. I’m just the messenger here.)

Oh, that is classic! I’d seen the Sarah Silverman one (hilarious, as always), but I almost like the “Hey Sarah Palin” one even better. I love that it’s so lo-fi, which kind of highlights the fact that Palin’s incompetence is inspiring even people in their bedrooms to feats of brilliance. Awesome.

I am NOT a fan of Obama, and won’t be voting for him. (actually, not much of a fan of McCain/Palin either. *sigh*) But oh my heck I LOVE Sarah Silverman. She’s HILARIOUS! (So was the song.) Such talent.
Yes, there ARE Republicans with a sense of humor (heck, look who we voted in last time!).

Kudos to both videos!!!!!!! I will be passing them on to friends and family. I only have to schlep down the hall to my Grandfathers room (I take care of him) and tell him about Obama! Good work folks! I’d like to send a special shout-out to Tina Fey and her two SNL Palin videos!!!! Let’s see what kind of train-wreck happens tonight in the VP debate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah Palin doesn’t know the difference between a brisket and a briss–among other things that ar far more important and would fall into the range of Presidential responsibilities.
God (or whomever) help us if the McCain-Palin ticket is elected.

This is ust another example of youth vs. the experience that comes with age. Older voters vote with our heads, not our emotions. Obama has NO experience to qualify him to be leader of this country, especially as Commander in Chief of our military. Having many advisers is not the same as knowing how to make a decision on your own based on leadership experience. PLEASE, think long and hard before you vote for Obama.

Which would rule out John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, and FDR (although he was appointed Asst. Secretary of the Navy, he was never actually in the Navy).
I may have missed a few, but these are the one’s I could remember off the top of my head.

You know, it is time for us to come together as a country. We are all on the same side, aren’t we? We are all americans, dems and reps alike. So stop all this nastiness, pick the candidate of your choice and CALM DOWN. Let democracy work.
