This movie appears to be a rip from the real personna’s of legendary duo “Sam & Dave” who didn’t speak to each other for years and won a grammy for the song “Soul Man” written by Isaac Hayes for them.
This movie also appears to be a rip from Blues Bros/Blues Bros 2000 too which was according to Aykroyd a parody and tribute to “Sam & Dave”…remember in 2000 the scene with Eddie FLOYD and Wilson Pickett…wasn’t that “Eddies or Ed’s” car dealership or car wash where they did 634 5 7 8 9 and isn’t Bernie Mac’s character a car dealer and his character’s name in the movie is “Floyd” …how original.
“Hold On I’m Coming” the first song Mac/Jackson perform is of course a famous “Sam & Dave” hit song…so my question is who and what is this movie about?
