It made me sad all over again for what our culture has lost when I watched David Letterman's classy, heartfelt tribute to the late Paul Newman. So many Idol Chatter readers have expressed their sadness over his death and appreciation of his legacy that I just couldn't resist posting the tribute here. For me, it is a powerful reminder that every day I should, as Letterman put it, take care of my "fellow human." Watch the clip below.

It's been over 2 weeks since Mr. Newman's passing, and I still get teary when I see such tributes. I feel a bit as if I've lost a member of my own family -- a dear, distant uncle who brought such light and warmth (as well as humor and style) to the world. I so appreciate Letterman's description of this lovely man's legacy -- and believe that he would too. I don't know about "saint" but I can tell you that Paul Newman was a Mensch of the highest order.
