Tom Cruise's 'Today Show' Redemption
I was probably going to see "Valkyrie" even before Tom Cruise's astonishing mea culpa-esque appearance yesterday on the "Today Show." The cast is a veritable banquet of my favorite British actors--Tom Wilkinson, Bill Nighy, Kenneth Branagh, the brilliant Eddie Izzard--and...
The trailer for "Valkyrie" plyed before "Quantum of Solace" opening weekend. People were laughing at the trailer. That's a really, really bad sign when the movie that is beng promotted is not a comedy.
I don't know if Maverick from "Top Gun" can save this one.

I don't know if it's god or bad, I just think it's a mistake to release it at Christmas. It's not going to do well against other standard Christmas family films. Timing is everything.
Hey Hootie1fan I heard different. I heard this movie is well produced and is very good. It is not a movie that you would take the kids to see, but who wants to be around kids all day over the Holidays. So if you want to hang around 8 year olds all day and at night take them to see a family flick, then by all means go ahead. But if you want to go on a date. You and your husband with out the kids then this is movie might be it.
Track backs for Valkyrie.

Hi Charm,
If memory serves, the release date has bounced around on this one, the most recent move to Christmas probably because it's tested well and they want to get it released in time for Oscar consideration...something (a win) that has eluded ol' Tommy Boy for oh these 25 years.
I think Tom has freaked out too many members of the Academy to get an Oscar nod. But you can't blame a guy for trying, unless his effort tanks his movie at the box office, which this may have done.
