You must remember that these personalities are just human beings and they are not above wrong doing.Have we forgotten who our real leaders are? Pray for them. As for me, I choose to follow Christ. It’s fine to listen to spiritual folk but they are not responsible for what their chilren do.Pray for this family and pray that you don’t get caught up in all the garbage that the media presents us with.

I’m a Roman Catholic who doesn’t know much about T.D. Jakes except that he is a famous Protestant pastor and founder of a very successful mega church.
However, it is inexcusable for beliefnet or a blogger on beliefnet to be reporting about the misfortune of this pastor’s step-son. What business is it of yours or anyone else’s ?
Shame on you !!

I’m sure Pastor Jakes has taught this young man right from wrong. When we become adults, we have a choice-to do right or wrong. Whichever we choose, we have to face the consequences. No I do not blame Pastor Jakes for what his step son did. On judgement day, God is not going to ask me about anyone else. He direct question is going to be What Did I Tell YOU To Do? What were my instrustions to you-not Sallie, Billie, John, or Sue.

I agree with all of you so far and this is totally unfair. All adults are or should be responsible for themselves so what could Pastor Jakes have done; chastise him, give him a time out or beat him. This guy is a grown man and his parents are not to be blamed for his short comings. A parent will never know all the things their child has done when out of their sight, so should their child rearing skills be questioned. Please remember that God is going to ask you about the things that you have done, not what others have done. Be Blessed.

When we become of age “Our lives revolves around the choices “We” make; not our parents or anyone else is to blame.” I know this young man was raise to know right from wrong so why degrade the parents. Please pray for this young man instead of slanderizing. None of us have lived a perfect life and never will, so when we fall down our pray is for Almighty God to give us strength to get back up again.
Therefore; Let him who is without sin cast the first stone! We should learn to be more sensitive to others even when they’ve reached the lowest points in their lives. Pastor Jakes my prayers are with your dear family because I know God is bigger than any problem any or us may encounter as we travel lifes journey.

We are living in a time where the enemy (satan) is constantly on the attack. Bishop Jakes and his family is not immuned from such attacks. We pray that the Lord will give them strength to get through this episode in there lives. This is just God preparing Him for another great sermon. This too shall pass.

When will you people ever learn? Ignorant hypocrits! No wonder he was in a park, or woods. He would be ostracizing by his ‘do-gooder daddy and piers for being someone/something he has no control over. Just because T.D.Jakes is ‘well intentioned’ does not mean he’s right about everything. He needs to spend more time educating himself and less time selling books and making money! I believe Jesus would have MUCH more to say about T.D. Jakes than about his poor son!

This News does not make me happy at all, while his father dangerously preach hate, his son was equally a victim of the hate messages,Bishop Jakes is equipped to know the heart of God and if this case is proven of the brokeness of his son it will be a great blow to his position on homosexuality. I hope that he will recall his statement and begining a ministry of reconciliation for all lesbian and gay children of God. The father can be blamed, he was an instituion of oppression to homosexual lifestyles, parents should take time to learn more about human sexuality, Jermaine’s behaviour even as an adult is questionable, it could have beem worst, if it was suicide as a teenager, but pointing fingers now doesnt not change the facts, I will be praying for this family and more so for Jermaine Jakes in the centre of this difficult times.

Demons, when they can’t possess the man of GOD they get as close as they can. It maybe the wife or children, job. this is so common. We must always remember we are not fighting flesh and blood but, unseen influences; Demons.
We must not get into the wraft, God doen’t not get glory out of the wraft of men. Love eliminates all and I pray the Love of a Father for his son will be exercised in order to cause the demon(s) to flee.
I am the daughter of the late Elder W. B. Schuller and, My father was always under attack so, were we, his children.
I was often attacked by demonic forces especially when was a child and as an adult when I would sleep over. Demons are very real and if you are in denial, you better pray because there is one thing for sure, and that is, they DO NOT create a false (lie) illusion without making the victim think they are RIGHT!

I am a native of WV where Bishop Jakes was raised. I attended his church in Charleston at the time when he was about to become national known. I saw and felt the heavy anointing on this man of God. I left his service and became a constant intercessor for him. I knew that the enemy would come after his anointing in anyway he could. I must get back to praying for him and his wife. I am a mother and can imagine the pain Jermaine’s mother must be feeling. Saints, let’s don’t judge but pray for this family. Satan would like nothing more than to destory Bishop Jakes and the work he is doing for the Lord. PLEASE, LET’S PRAY!!!

We need to embrace people with the true love of God. If the church would go back to the basics and really seek God, maybe we could help those that are searching to fill the emptiness that only God can complete. We are so eager to speak negatively, we all need a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, so we can really minister to the inner pain of people

The enemy is always at work. That’s his job. To steal, kill & destroy. We cannot always protect our children. We can only pray for them. I have two sons that were both in prison. they are both out now, and that was by prayer. GOD will and does answer our prayers Saints, so keep the Bishop and his family all in prayer. Maybe this is what his son needs to wake him up from the clutches of satan.

We cannot be held responsible for what our grown children do. We raise them the best that we can and pray that God will take them the rest of the way. What Jermaine allegedly did is between him and God and not Bishop T.D. Jakes. We should all be praying for the family and not ostrasizing them lest we fall.

“Beliefnet – Inspiration, sprituality, faith”. So reads the title at the top of the page. Really?? This article is nothing more than shabby gossip mongering and you should be ashamed of giving time to it. Yes, it may be factual, but as a Christian site you should be covering sin with the love of Jesus, not exposing it for the general tittle tattle of all and sundry. Disgusted!
