Candace Cameron Bure to Star in New TV Show

posted by dross | 10:37am Wednesday June 3, 2009

Best known as adorable older daughter DJ on “Full House,” Candace Cameron Bure focused most of her time on her marriage and raising a family after the hit TV show ended in 1995. Now the Christian actress has landed a starring role in a new ABC Family show, “Make It or Break It,” about a group of young gymnasts who struggle to make it to the Olympics. Cameron Bure plays Summer, the stepmother to one of the athletes.
During a video interview I did with Cameron Bure in 2008 while she was promoting her movie “The Wager,” she said she would only do family-friendly TV and films because she wanted her children to be able to see her work. Now it seems she’s landed the perfect gig. Best of luck Candace!
The ABC Family series will air on June 22.

Oh wow – I used to be the biggest Full House fan ever! I’m so glad to see Candace back on TV, and it’s great that she’s doing show that she will be able to watch with her kids. Seems like Make It or Break It might have a good message in there about working hard & pursuing your dreams. Will definitely be checking it out!

Candace said herself in numerous interview that Make It or Break It is not a show she’s going to allow her kids to watch as it has “teen issues.” So far, in only 2 episodes they’ve eluded to an eating disorder, an affair…is this considered family friendly? I think not! So why did Candace sign-on to do a program when she’s clearly indicated in the past “she’ll only do family friendly tv & films?”
