‘New Moon’ Trailer: OK, I Might Come Around…

posted by Donna Freitas | 3:42pm Wednesday June 3, 2009

So after HATING the movie poster released for “New Moon” (did I mention hate? because I can’t emphasize how much I hate seeing Bella in Jacob’s arms and not Edwards, which I already posted about), I am rather encouraged after seeing the trailer for “New Moon.” I kind of even loved it.
But then, perhaps this particular trailer is designed to cater to Edward fans like me, unlike the poster, which clearly caters to Team Jacob?
The scene with Bella at Edward’s house, his family celebrating her birthday was just how I imagined it from the book, as was the scene in the woods where Edward (no, no, no, don’t do it Edward!) tells Bella goodbye. The best part of all, of course, was the kiss between Edward and Bella! (I am hoping for many Edward-Bella kissing moments at the beginning and end of this film.)

The biggest surprise of all for me: I actually thought Jacob looked pretty good, and watching him turn from human to werewolf was, I can’t believe I’m going to say it, rather fantastic. Granted, this doesn’t mean that I am going to stomach a movie that is almost entirely Bella-Jacob focused, but this trailer sure does indulge the Edward fan in me!
What about all you other Twilight fans out there? (Yes, even the Jacob ones.) What did you think of the trailer? Did it give you some renewed hope? Or did you already like the poster?

I cant stomach all the pimping for Failcob. Today’s Access Hollywood’s behind the scenes is all about bigging up Lautner who I cannot abide. The next 6 months is goign to be painful.

I don’t understand why Team Edward fans get so mad at Team Jacob fans. You win, they know it and always knew that you would so why be so snotty or mean about it? Not saying all TEF’s are that way, but the majority that I have run into are. Can’t you be nice and let the TJF’s have PART of a movie (PART! Because our dear Edward will be in it more then expected, or so I’ve heard) to be happy? And another thing, why do people who HATE Jacob also HATE Taylor Lautner. Again, not all of Jacob hater’s are like that, but, just like before, the majority that I have encountered are that way. I also want to say, whether or not you like or dislike Taylor Lautner, or whether you like or dislike all the publicity he has been getting for buffing up, give the boy props were he deserves them. He gained over 30 lb’s for the role and worked his cute (in my opinion) little butt off to do so. That, my fellow Twilighter’s, is commitment and what do we as twilight fans love more then commitment to our favorite series.
P.S. Just to clarify, I am a HUGE Jacob in New Moon fan, not so much in Eclipse (even the biggest Jacob fans can see that sexually harassing Bella is no way to win her heart) and very much so in Breaking Dawn BUT, I am also I huge Edward fan, who just like Jacob I wasn’t to much of a fan of in Eclipse (he may have had the best intentions, but he was smothering Bella). Also, I wanted, as in always wanted, Bella and Edward together. Truthfully, she didn’t deserve either of them (not a big fan of her up until she is all Vamped out), but her and Edward should be together and her and Jacob should be besties. Thats just the way it is in the twilight universe.
OH, one final thing, sorry for any spelling/grammar mistakes in this VERY long comment. I suck at it.

Stephenie Meyer has certainly created a world that we all love. I personally don’t get the rabid fans of either Jacob or Edward. There is no need to be unpleasant no matter what team you support. Taylor has done a fantastic job of growing into Jacob’s role. The trailer was awesome, as there was something in there for everyone. Stephenie was very clever in the weaving of these stories. Edward’s absence for the better part of New Moon only makes their reunion sweeter. The next two books would fall apart without the werewolves. As far as the poster goes, I liked it. The one I really want released so I can buy it and put it up on my wall is Edward in Italy by himself with a jacket on but no shirt. It raises my temp every time I see it.

Hey, where can I find the poster with Edward in Italy? I’d love to gaze at it lovingly…… total Edward fan, but love the short haired Jacob in the trailer. He’s turned out to be a hottie too. I always thought Bella should be slapped silly (but she already was) for leading Jacob on. While reading New Moon, I wanted to throw up everytime she said she had to wrap her arms around herself so she didn’t exploded from the pain. I know she was in love, but come on!!!
I’ll be looking for that afore-mentioned poster. Can’t wait to see the movie. I already have midnight showing plans with my other obsessed friends.

I wasn’t fond of the poster for New Moon, and I did enjoy the trailer. Jacob is looking good, a bit more like a viable “good friend” for Bella in Edward’s absence. And yes, I will live for the moments that Edward is in the movie.

I am more of a team Edward fan however – New Moon (book 2). Was mostly Jacob (werewolf) and Jacob did help Bella in a very tough time when Edward left her. Bella belongs with Edward and thats how it is. However Jacob is a good friend – I even think Edward kind of became friends with Jacob at the end of Breaking Dawn. So let Jabob of his fun before Edward gets back.
