Remember when Bernie Madoff defrauded his investors of over $18 billion dollars, a number so staggering that you can’t even begin to comprehend it? Well, a new documentary is coming out that focuses on the efforts of one man, Henry Markopolos, who tried to blow the whistle on Madoff for nearly 10 years. No one, not the SEC, not the government, not even the press would listen to him. The documentary is part underdog story, part conspiracy film, and is, as the tagline says, “unfortunately based on a true story.” It hits theaters this month, so be sure to be on the lookout for it.
We’ve got an exclusive clip from the film to show you, which gives a tiny glimpse into what Markopolos’ life was like during the years he was trying to blow the roof off of Madoff’s scheme. After the clip is the trailer for the film itself. Enjoy!
