Winter Olympics: Pregnant Olympian Curling in Vancouver

posted by shuang

Who says you can’t compete in the Olympics while carrying a baby?

At 30, Kristie Moore is five months pregnant and competing as an alternate on the Canadian team at Vancouver.  Moore is the third woman in Olympian history to compete while pregnant. She also comes from a family of curlers, her mom even curling while 7-8 months pregnant with Moore’s brother.

Originally, Moore didn’t qualify to be on the Canadian team, but she was notified to be part of the team weeks after finding out she was pregnant.

For the most part, curling is a safe sport unless there are (rare) crashes between players. As of now, Moore is sitting on the sidelines more than playing, but she will have to participate if Canada is to reach and qualify for the gold medal.Watch a video of Kristie Moore being interviewed and learn more about curling:

If a woman really wants to have a baby there are fertility clinics specializing in In-vitro fertilization infertility that will help fulfill this wish. However, there are various factors that need to be taken into consideration before visiting a fertility clinic, these include how effective the treatments they provide are, types of technologies in operation, the equipment used, the doctors experience, their track record in curing infertility using in vitro fertilization and also how much it is going to cost you.
