It is time to tell the truth. Fess Up. Tell it like it is. Be honest.
In honor of National Honesty day, which occurs each year on April 30, let us think of ways we can bring more honesty into our lives.
Maybe if means admitting something you have been hiding, or being more open to telling the truth in everyday living. Perhaps it can be a day to tell yourself the truth about something that has been uncomfortable to look at in your life.
Honesty is a great virtue and it pays to live a more honest life. The truth shall set you free!
According to the Holiday Insights website, M. Hirsh Goldberg, former press secretary to a governor of Maryland and author of five books, created National Honesty Day in the early 1990′s after spending four years researching and writing The Book of Lies (Morrow).
Since April begins with a big ole lie — April Fool’s Day — he was hoping to end the month with a higher moral note.
This is referred to as a “National” day but the folks at Holiday Insights report that they have not found any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day. If it that’s the case, no reason we can’t partake in an honest April 30th today as National Honesty Day rolls around.
Here’s to less little while lies and more expressions of truth.

What a timely commemoration–with the Goldman Sachs investigation. Let’s hope that all of us will learn from these destructive financial lies and create honesty in financial dealings.
