Make sure you are well rested. Be on your best behavior. Be bold. Make sure sincerity is the order of the day. Say like you mean it. Don’t afraid. If you would, don’t look at anybody sitting around. In fact, if your parents were present, don’t look at them.
Tell the graduates to diligently find themselves Black Americans-the African Americans as friends. Do it-say it. Don’t ask, don’t beg them to do it, tell them emphatically to look for an African Americans as friends.
Let them know that’s the only way they can remove the chains around them for so long. Let them know they have the keys to the chains. They just have to use the key to remove it.
