I don’t know about the weather where you are, but here in Virginia, autumn came rather abruptly. It was warm and sunny throughout most of September and then, literally overnight, cold winds began to blow.
Summer is gone. Autumn is here.
I love summer and I particularly loved this past one. I engaged in a lot of outdoor activity, including running through nature trails as I trained for a marathon. I went to the beach at sunrise. I hung out on restaurant patios late at night and stared up at the stars.
Now, I could lament that summer is over. After all, fall generally means less outdoors and less sunshine. The days slowly get darker and shorter. For kids, vacation time is over and they have nine long months of school to endure.
Sometimes it’s a bummer when things change.
All you can think about is how good you had it – how much fun you used to have. You look at the times you’re in now and they aren’t the same. It can make you sad… yes, that’s one way you could take it.
Or, you could look forward to everything that a new season has. Autumn brings with it woolen scarves, crisp breezes, wearing jackets, apple cider, the start of football season, and piles of leaves ready for you to jump in. I love driving along the interstate highways and seeing all the trees dressed in gold, orange and red as the leaves change colors.
Autumn may not be summer, but it’s beautiful in its own way.
Just as the seasons in nature change, the seasons of your life change as well. Your marital status changes. Your children grow up and move out. You land jobs and lose jobs. In any aspect of your life, you can and will move from a place of security into the unknown.
I hope you can find a way to embrace the beauty of a new season. Know that nothing stays the same forever, and that’s actually a good thing.

THIS IS SO TRUE ABOUT LIFE. I HAD EVERYTHING I NEEDED AND WANTED, FAMILY, HUSBAND, CHILDREN, JOB, CAR, PERSONAL ITEMS – CLOTHING, HOUSE, JEWELRY BUT IT HAPPENED – A STROKE HIT ME – AND NOW I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO MY NAME, NO FAMILY, NO POSSESSIONS, JOB. NOTHING AT ALL. YOU LEARN TO APPRECIATE WHAT YOU HAD AND WHAT LITTLE YOU CAN DO. LIFE IS NOT REALLY FAIR BUT ITS ALL WE HAVE.

I recently entered a new season in life. My dad died from a sudden heart attack just weeks before I was to move halfway across the country to a place where I knew no one. I am still adjusting to all of this “change,” but I am learning to embrace it.
Autumn happens to be my favorite season.

My parents divorced when I was young and I “through a pity party” for myself for years. However, after college I became a teacher and because of my experiences I was better prepared to help my students that also had experienced their parents getting a divorced. As I look back now, it was the best experience for me to help young people adjust to their new life style. God knew this all along.

For the last three years that is how my daughter looked at the end of summer. In fact she got so depressed she is seeing a phycologist and family doctor.she let this and her workplace this year put her into panic attacks. They put her on medication which seems to be working. She also has germ phobia.

I found this little article very relaxing. I have always loved The Fall. That small chill, Just enough to put a small blanket or heavy sheet over you at night and syill leave the window open a crack or two. Preparing for the Holiday Season as well as Halloween for the Kids. Brisk walks on a brisk evening. To me it’s a Season to prepare for Change. Right now I’m starting to workout again after quite a lay off, due to heath reasons, so maybe the timing, for me,is just right. Thanks Again

This was a nice reminder that the only thing constant is change. With change comes loss which erupts fear…loss of the company of a new friend, loss of a family member, and just loss of any anticipated memories and more enjoyment with that person, season or thing. But, we have to remember that we never lose ourselves,,our pliable and flexible selves with much love.

I love autumn, it’s my favorite season. Maybe because i was born in November but it is. it comes before the Xmas Season, it brings Thanksgiving with it and it’s the time for the harvest. All in all it’s just a wonderful season. I live in Florida but I also love the colors it brings when I’ve been up North during Fall.
