Just a few of my favorite things are colliding this Sunday.
First of all, we all know that Oprah has her own TV network now. Literally, it’s called OWN. This Sunday, they are featuring “Super Soul Sunday”, television programming dedicated to nourishing the mind, body and spirit. From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Eastern / Pacific Time, OWN features people and stories that will show you how to rejuvenate your whole self.
This Sunday, they interview bestselling author Kris Carr. Here at Beliefnet we’ve featured Kris Carr a few times with The Power of Being Called to Create, as well as an excerpt from her book, Crazy Sexy Diet.
On OWN, Carr shares how her life changed after the release of her autobiographical film Crazy Sexy Cancer, in which she fights the disease with healthy living and a fiercely optimistic spirit.

I am sick of the way the word sexy is thrown around. I couldn’t stand to listen to this. This woman is so full of herself not just full of life. She says she created a revolution? My granddaughter who is 14 months old was called ‘sexy’ by her aunt, who is 21 years old. So many of our younger generation exposes their breasts and every other body part they can because of this word sexy. Also, who is Oprah, she worships at the altar Oprah. Don’t tell me all the good things she has done. I have seen the ugly, self-centered Oprah and that is who she really is. These people do good things for recognition and tax breaks, they don’t do this anonymously like the rest of us. Beliefnet appears to be a belief in ANYTHING and EVERYTHING except Christianity. Thanks for spreading propaganda that anything goes.

OMG and I mean it literally Pearl, you are entitled to your opinion, but get a grip. One of the most common issues for women with cancer is the loss of “feeling like a complete woman”. You spoke of Christianity as being left out by those people who do things for recognition and tax breaks. The Bible explicitly tells women how to be and includes “sexy” as a means of enticing husbands and pleasing him. How do you suppose Eve would have reacted if she had cancer and no longer felt attractive to Adam?
As for recognition. Mother Tereasa was not anonymous in her travels abroad to care for the poor and needy. Doing good and reaping todays rewards of recognition and tax breaks is not an indicator of non-Christian belief. God expects us to prosper. What broken spirited, poor, downtrodden person wants to listen to someone who is still in the muck and mire of Satan’s lies. As Christians we have to strive toward higher standards and those who are able to give shoulds not Beliefnet that is judgemental, it is Christians who have forgotten the Beatitudes – lack humility and positivity, have the appearance of jealousy, and are judgemental of those who have succeeded.
