”… a woman’s role is not just to bring life into the world but to uphold it, to fight for what she believes in.” – Le Ly Hayslip , IN SWEET COMPANY: CONVERSATIONS WITH EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN ABOUT LIVING A SPIRITUAL LIFE
Those of you who have read my book, IN SWEET COMPANY: CONVERSATIONS WITH EXTRAORDINARY WOMEN ABOUT LIVING THE SPIRITUAL LIFE, (www.InSweetCompany.com) know about Zainab Salbi, the founder of Women for Women International, the inspired work she does with women around the world. This Tuesday, March 8th, on the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, Zainab is collaborating with Google to gather 20,000 + women on bridges around the globe to celebrate the achievements of the generations of women who have come before us and shine an international spotlight on women’s issues.
Women will march, beat drums, dance, and sing in honor of our accomplishments. We will stand for peace and hope for women whose families, communities, and countries are still being torn asunder by war, and demand security, economic opportunity, and an equal voice at the negotiation tables.
