Question:
I have read many spiritual works, and many of them mention Bodhisattvas as beings who come back and reincarnate for highly spiritual purposes. I am quite confused about it. Would you please provide some insights into the nature and level of consciousness of these Bodhisattvas. In other words, are they already fully evolved into Enlightenment and achieved Unity Consciousness or are they still experiencing Divine Consciousness, as the Saint does?
On Monday the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life released a study
in which they chronicled the state of faith and organized religion in
America. The news is not good if you are a God lover, worst of all of
you are a Jesus lover. Cutting to the chase, the sharpest drop in
members amongst organized faiths is amongst Catholics. That is to say
that amongst those polled, the largest number of people who said
they had chosen to abandon the faith they had grown up with was
Catholics. The largest growth was amongst those who now claimed to be
"Unaffiliated." The study went out of its way to assure readers that
"unaffiliated" does not indicate agnostics or atheists, just those
who, ya'know, believed in God and all but just not when it was
organized" (I'm paraphrasing).
It's generally acknowledged that Hillary Clinton's campaign has stalled on the wrong side of a charisma gap. The Democratic electorate has surged to follow Barack Obama, and yet this doesn't signal that Hillary is unpopular -- she still earns a high favorability rating. Nor does she suffer by comparison on issues of substance; if anything, she's ahead. But Obama has done something very difficult for an inspirational campaigner. He's kept building support. Enthusiasm isn't waning as the first glow of infatuation fades. This is testimony to Obama's integrity, a much used word in politics that rarely matches reality.
Today is my birthday. I am not going to confess my age but here's a
hint: Jesus was crucified at this age. That got me thinking about
what I have really accomplished in my life up until now. Admittedly,
if Jesus is the measuring stick, then I find myself gravely
disappointed by my lack of accomplishments. However, Jesus' real A-
list status emerged after his death, which is sort of an awkward
thing to contemplate.
