My Mother (by Mallika Chopra)

posted by Mallika Chopra | 5:54pm Sunday March 16, 2008

I walked into a room where my mother sat, taking just a moment for herself. We were in Costa Rica for a conference, and until 15 minutes before, she had watched my kids for two days so I could attend meetings. She was finally taking a moment for herself.
I told her that we needed help.
My mother got up, headed to her hotel room, and within two hours was on a plane to Atlanta to help my brother and his wife take care of their baby.
This is my mother. This is what a Mother represents and means to me.
Full of love. Always sacrificing herself. Always willing to give with no expectation to receive.
This is my mother.

HI MALLIKA,
GREAT TO HEAR THAT YOU ALL GOT A MOTHER. WELL YOU A REAL LUCKY DUDE TO HAVE SUCH A LOVING PARENTS. YOU KNOW YOUR MOTHER RESEMBLE MY MOTHER WHOM I MISS SO MUCH. EVEN TODAY HER MEMORIES ARE SO LIVE AND WHEN ALONE TEARS ROLL DOWN THINKING OF HER AND THE SACRFICES SHE MADE WITHOUT A NOTION, LEST WE WORRY. AT A POINT OF TIME, WHICH I NOW REALISE, SHE FORGOT HER PAINS WHICH WAS ALWAYS COUNTERFEITED WITH A SWEET SMILE AND WE NEVER TURNED BACK TO ASK HER ” HI MAMONI HOW WAS YOUR DAY? HOW ARE YOU FEELING TODAY? IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE INTO SOME AGONY AND CAN I HELP YOU?” I WAS REALLY A STUPID SON CARING FOR OTHERS WHERE ACTUALLY MY MOTHER NEEDED A REAL LOVING CARE. IT WAS TRULY AN ACT OF SELFISHNESS. I WISH AND I REALLY PRAY TO GOD THAT PLEASE GIVE A CHANCE, MAY BE A NEXT BIRTH, TO BE BORN OF THE WOMB OF THE SAME MOTHER, SO THAT I CAN SERVE DAY AND NIGHT, MY MOTHER MARY.
I AM TRULY DELIGHTED THAT YOU ARE SO LOVING AND CARING. I WISH I COULD BE THE SAME LIKE YOU.
MA HOPE WE MEET SOMEWHERE WHERE I CAN RECOGNISE YOU AND I HUG YOU WARMLY TO SAY, “THANK YOU THAT YOU HAVE PARDONED YOUR SON.”
