Opening the Third Eye

posted by dchopra | 11:14am Tuesday April 1, 2008

Question:
Could you please tell me your thoughts on opening the brow chakra the third eye, and if there is a best way to do it. Is it safe and is the experience as beautiful as most spiritual teachers claim it to be thanks for any help.

Answer:
There are a number of techniques that aim specifically at opening this spiritual center, but I believe the most sensible way is to practice a system of meditation that gives one contact with one’s non-local self. That experience activates the basic evolutionary forces within you so that whatever next stage of development is appropriate for you, will naturally unfold. Rather than impose a spiritual agenda on what you want to develop in your life, and when it should happen, trust in your divine intelligence to bring forth exactly the growth you need when you need it. That cosmic intelligence is far wiser than our passing enthusiasms based on stories of beautiful spiritual experiences. This holistic approach also provides the safety of not creating any imbalance or problems by getting yourself into something that you are not ready for.
Love,
Deepak

Dao means “WAY”. The way leads to self-realization. It is the ultimate truth and has remained unchanged since the beginning of time. Its existence is unconditional regardless of gender, race, nationality, religion or status. Dao is the great way; it helps us to understand the truth of life. It also helps make our lives more meaningful and worthwhile. Dao is the source of all Holy scriptures, sutras, as well as dharma. Dao is not a religion, yet it is the essence of all religions. Dao is the Divine Self.
By receiving Dao, the True Self is pointed out. It leads to our conscience. Our inner conscience is identified and enlightened by receiving Dao. It is also the realization of our True Self as the most abundant, brilliant and imperishable being.
By cultivating Dao, a person becomes wiser, more merciful, and loving. This is what helps one toward Full Enlightenment. World Peace begins with a Dao Heart.
For those who have not participated in the experience, it could be described as a cleansing of the Spirit, and a great opening of the Third Eye. Until recently this ceremony was offered only to those dedicated few who practiced Dao for countless years, but in these times the Dao Masters are led to share this priceless gift with all who seek it. It is a sacred event, and is recommended to all who are on the Spiritual Path.

hun deh temple in glen Ellen, Illinois is a dangerous cult which is not much different from the Hari Krishna groups. It claims to open the third eye and give enlightenment to people on the spiritual path. I recommend everyone to stay away from this dangerous cult. They offer “free meals” and third eye openings then take the sheep to a three day “dharma” seminar and use dick sutphens 6 step conversion techniques to break the minds down of the people. They seem to attract a lot of ex drug users and most of their temple staff is drug help professionals. It is very dangerous and more like Scientology. They are not real Daoists or Buddhists but an offshoot to control people and get their donations. At the three day seminar they force the participants to take a “practice vow” for things that are totally anti life and anti western world. Please stay away from it for your own benefit. They use magic to control their people and if you happen to go to the “third eye ritual” just observe the zombie like features of the people there if you do not believe me.
