As usual, excellent explanation. What I find interesting is the concept of space as related to time. If time is the continuity of memory using the ego as a reference point, as you so eloquently put it, then space has to be, in my opinion, the experience of time. I know it sounds strange, but if the continuum of memory as a self-referral process (albeit a poor one as it happens against the background of the ego, not pure self)creates the impression of time (the passing of something that can't pass as it is eternal at heart) then space, if Mr Einstein was correct, is the experience of that passing. Therefore, if I have not lost my marbles and this makes any sense, only when we experience time do we have time/space and only when time is experienced differently do we have the warping of the fabric of time space. When the mechanism of time (the continuation of memory against the background of the ego) becomes the continuation of memory against the background of the self (in its purest form) then there is no time, as there is no memory, the unit, the fragment, is being assessed against eternity, hence it is not experienced as a point, a localized field experience, but as a whole, a totality, that is; Brahma. The reference point being the determinative in all this. So time is the interplay of rishi, devat and chhandas or whatever name you give to the process, as long as there is something to observe there is time and as long as something is being observed there is a process (space) so pure, absolute, undiluted consciousness has no sense of identity, the drop joins the ocean, the wave settles back. Unity, what I see as step below that as we maintain identity, is the maintenance; a localized experience from an infinity self instead of a localized experience as seen from a localized self (ego). I am lost here?
Deepak, what struck me when watching this video about the concept of time, was, that there is no time there is only eternity. How true this is. In Christianity this is very much emphasised and this truth really hit home again. Thank you for your wisdom.,
Time has been a fascinating topic for me for some TIME.
Aside from the fact that I am usually "short on time" with more to do than there is time in a day to do...which I am consciously addressing and changing....(can't wait to hear more on the subject really)
I have a question Deepak about Mayan Time. Could you please comment on your thoughts of the long count, 2012 (or 2011) and the accuracy of the prophecies? Am I correct in my learning that the Vedas have some similar predictions?
Thank you. And as the Mayan's would say,
"I am Yourself Another"
Time at its most basic level is presence of motion and forces. Time is slow where expansion of universe (space) is slow as around large masses like earth sun black holes. Depak is right in saying that only present is real. Past is just the memory of present experience. Future is not out there. Future does not exist. Even present is infinitismal.
