you’re in seattle. did you know that the generous orthodoxy conference is at the church right next to s.p.u. anyway thought that was interesting. love the blog. need to read your books.

I thought it was close, but didn’t know how close. We didn’t register for it because we needed a day just to kick back and walk around.

I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed Seattle. In just two weeks my husband and I will be visiting for the first time and we are greatly looking forward to it!

Scot,
You’re just up the road from us (three hours actually). I hope you enjoy your stay, there really is nothing like wandering through Pike’s Place and grabbing a cup of Starbucks while listening to the street musicians.

Scot,
We got bit by the Seattle bug, too. Julie has a cousin in Seattle that we stayed with when we attended “The Ooze” conference some years back. Also our daughter and (Navy) son-in-law lived out in Brimmerton for a year. We enjoyed walking the market, sipping coffee, and absorbing the wonder of such a multicultural city. When I did the NW ECC retreat, Julie and I took a day to wander the city, even took the boat over to Victoria and walked the botanical gardens there. Loved it.

Scot, when recruiting for TEDS, I spent several weekends in Seattle, got hooked on coffee there and Pike’s Market has got to be the best place to watch people. Fish mongers are a hoot.

Scot,
My wife and I came down from Vancouver BC to attend the generous orthodoxy and have just returned home. Greetings from two fellow Durham graduates with some hitherto unknown common interests. You’ll be glad to know that the conference bookstore proprietor made sure that he gave a shameless plug for Embracing Grace, and the copies on hand were quickly sold.

Scot:
So great to finally meet you and your lovely wife. Enjoyed your presentation. Very thoughtful and thought-provoking. Frank and I had good discussions on the way home.
Thanks so much for inviting us up.
Safe jouney home.

I can hardly wait to get my own copy of “Embracing Grace”. Hopefully will do so this week (already tried, but unlike one bookstore on the other side of the city, this bookstore had not received its copies yet).
We are going through “The Jesus Creed” during our devotions. It is a great read there also. It is divided well for such reading, which I think is conducive for our reflection. And our daughter (only child) Tiffany seems to be interested in it.
Great to hear that you folks are having a good (and full, it sounds like) time.
