Scot,
I'm trying to imagine how it felt to the senses being there. I give up.

And I thought I had trouble returning to work after the Christmas holidays....Oh my....how do you leave that sunset?
Sounds like a great trip!

I've always felt bad for academics who were required to teach introductory courses to non-interested students, attend boring faculty meetings, at marginal pay. Perhaps I shouldn't feel so bad after all! I bet that view inspired some more blogs...

Scot and Kris,
"...sun, moon and stars in their courses above...join with ALL nature in manifold witness..." Gorgeous picture!
Brad,
I've always felt bad, to come back with your humor, for pastors who have to work one day a week!
Commentary: the goal is to enthuse non-interested students; the boringness of faculty meetings, which defies gravity, can be easily met by taking something to read or grade. On our pay: we can't complain when (1) we chose our vocation or it chose us; (2) we get to do what we want; (3) we see others less fortunate; (4) we are not in a capitalistic system where we actually have a "product" that can be bought and sold; (5) we get our summers off for writing and reading.
