and I’ve now made my first pot of risotto in the new cast iron cookware. Awesome because of its uniform heat. I made it with some porcini mushroom, saffron flavoring, light chicken stock, and a few diced tomatoes at the end as garnish.

For my birthday, Julie gave me a copy of John Grisham’s latest novel *Playing for Pizza.* You’d love it (even though it is, drat!, fiction). A failing NFL quarterback goes to Parma, Italy to play (Americanized) football. The descriptions of the Italian foods make you drool.

wow Scot, that’s an impressive dish to make. very time-consuming. having a good cast-iron pan makes all the difference.

After barbeque-ing risotto a couple of times, I think that rounded bottom would solve my scorching problem.
