Absolutely! I can’t wait for the pitchers and catchers to report and start reading the scouting reports incessantly and figure out which line ups would be best for lefties and righties. Man, I miss baseball season.

Just under six weeks until pitchers and catchers report. I can’t wait…we’re moving in a few weeks to a part of Asia where I can get satellite TV and hopefully the new MLB channel.
Of course Art (Red Sox) and Scot (Cubs) have more hope for this season than I (Rangers). There was a time when the Rangers acted like they were in a big market (we actually have the #5 baseball market in America, and a very consistent fan base) and one of the better TV deals, and would spend with the big boys (in fact we had the top payroll once back in the ARod years). Now, hovering around 60 million, with a fourth of that in the rapidly declining Michael Young, I’m sad to say that we will be in the bottom seven or eight payrolls in the league. At least we have the top farm system in the game by most accounts! But I hate waiting for 2011 and suffering through our sixth or seventh “rebuilding year” in a row.

Scot, your incessant dissing of the American League is so contradictory to the spirit of this blog. Let’s try loving our neighbors just a bit more, shall we?
Go White Sox!

Go Twins!

January and sports is great because of HOCKEY!! How could you not love the oudoor game played at Wrigley between the Redwings and Blackhawks. Outstanding. Forget about guys trying to hit a ball with a bat, try skating on ice, while being hit, trying to get a piece of frozen rubber past a massive goalie. That is sports.
Oh, and if you have to watch baseball… go Mariners.

What a sad, sad, misguided post.
We will pray for you Scot.

Silly form of baseball? I prefer to think of it as emergent.

Love the post, I was with MIke Wickham today down in San Diego for the Chargers game and we can’t wait until Feb 14 when Pitchers/Catchers and Wickham report for Spring Training. After a disastrous 3 game playoff run for the Cubs this year (i was at Dodger Stadium out here for Game 3 and was depressed for maybe a month afterwards) I am looking forward to the Cubs making their World Series run. Remember Scot, according to a fine research paper done by a certain former student, Jesus is a Cubs fan. -josh

Shocking!!! yes, canada is first and foremost a hockey nation. but, to make your slam at the american league, you also insult our toronto blue jays team who brought world series pleasure to canada, my home and native land!!!

timellison,
Most elements of a baseball game is much better than all of hockey, that’s for sure!

Scot – I tend to think it is much simpler than that – in Illinois in January, what the heck else are we going to do but watch sports?

Part of me was sad when my Colts lost. But after a good nights rest I came to my senses and began thinking of the arrival of pitchers and catchers- the true beginning of Spring. Go Cubs!
