Megan is probably gone, but neither Michael nor Scott are far behind.
I wish Danny would win, but it’ll probably be Adam.

I think Michael is gone tonight. Danny Gokey is going to win.

Who actually goes tonight? My money’s on Michael.
Who should go tonight? Scott. He’s been the most consistently mediocre and hasn’t been able to blame it on illness. At least Simon finally said what everyone’s been thinking.

I agree with Dave, it will probably be Michael.
Based on overall slumping, Scott (and he’s being upstaged by a better pianist).
Based on most frequently horrible individual performances, Megan.
Winner? Danny.

One of these 3 is gone tonight:
Scott, Megan, Michael (right now Megan has to go but some folks think she’s too cute to fire; Michael’s bacon was saved for the next 1 or 2 weeks because Alexis was wrongly dismissed last week; Scott is a one trick pony destined for the also-ran heap in about 2 or 3 weeks unless someone else massively screws up)
Adam takes home the gold.

People are dying and going to hell without Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and this site is “concerned” about who will win AO? God help us get back to what is important!

Liz –
Read the other 99.99999999% of posts. ok, I guess, not counting the ones about coffee, then 98%.
As for AI, If Megan doesn’t go home something is seriously wrong. That was SO embarrassing last night.
Danny is the most consistent, I think. he’s very entertaining, and really a strong vocalist.
Adam is good, but last night he looked too much like Elvis for me [sorry Scot. I know you're a fan. Of Elvis, I mean.] Artistically, though, he’s probably the one with the widest range.
Last night’s highlight for me, though, was that Smokey Robinson’s facial WORK has finally relaxed a little. Last time I saw him, I kept looking over my shoulder for the axe murderer that was causing Smokey to look so SURPRISED when he turned my way….

Liz
I hope you don’t enjoy any distractions or engage in any activity which takes your mind off of the weight of the world, otherwise you might be hypocritical in your charge.
In other words: Don’t smile. Don’t enjoy life.
This show helps celebrate the beauty of God’s greatest creation – music. Except when Adam tortures the Man in Black.

Bill — honest question not crabby debate –
you think that Adam’s schtick can surpass Danny’s talent AND backstory? I’m not sure. I do think that Danny might have peaked too soon to win – like, before the finals even began he was THE GUY. He’s a worship leader here in town who is deeply respected and adored — so of course I’m biased and wanting him to win.. I’m just not sure he can for the long run.
Piano Scott is dear, and nice, and totally outclassed musically.
The Redhaired girl surprised me last night – i liked her. But was also a little heebed out that she’s only 16. She’s just all-around age-inappropriate, so I don’t know what to do with her.
The end.

Scot, you should ask about Lost as well – Is Ben dead??
But as for AI, I really hope it’s Scot, but it could very well be Megan because I think the show has a high audience of females who are more likely to be fans of the guys.
I think the final run will be between Danny and Adam, and the results will depend on their continued perfomances. Adam’s songs last night and last week were strategically genius – first he set himself apart and then he went safe and beautiful.
And as for people dying without God, I’d agree with Mic (#10), but perhaps if Danny Gokey or Michael Sarver wins (though Michael doesn’t deserve to), the name of Jesus will be spread through their fame, since they are both Christians and worship pastors. AI tends to draw in Christians since we all learn to sing through church.

Steph (#9)
You forgot the sports (of course some may be better forgotten), travelogue, grandson, and favorite song posts … make it 90%.

We could send a number of idolers home right now…I agree that Megan, Michael and Scott are on the block. IMHO…send all three home now along with guitar guy. Adam was on fire last night followed by Allison and Matt (jazz piano guy). The last two are my dark horses to win behind Adam and Danny.
But I’m getting off the fence and calling that Michael is going home tonight.
As for Liz…you are joking, right? Tell me you just hate the show and needed to vent. We could easily turn this into a free-will (does america really choose who is going home) vs predestination (God already knows/decided and/or the producers have rigged it) thing if you want, but that would be so lame.
posted March 26, 2009 at 4:13 pm
Michael Sarver is, too? I heard that Kris Allen is also a worship leader someplace.
Interesting.
Yes, RJS! I forgot the travelogue. And we ALL forgot the Cubs.. so…. 86%??

After last week, I wasn’t sure about Adam. But after last night, he’s still one of my top picks. So is Danny and Lil. I’d pick Danny to win if it is a guy, and Lil if it is a girl. I can’t picture Scott as the Idol. Even with his blindness, he’s sappy. But he may get a lot of sympathy votes. I’ve always liked Megan but she wasn’t very good last night. Oh, and I just found out that Kris is the nephew of an old friend, so I’ve got to like him, too.

FInally! A topic I feel like I can address here.

Scott must go. He’s getting the sympathy vote because he’s blind, but he’s hopelessly mediocre.
Michael has to be in the bottom three. I cannot even believe he made the Top 13.
Megan has one thing she does, and I’m so tired of it. And her little cutesy shake thing was cute like the first 10 times or so, but enough!!
Anoop can sing but he doesn’t have star power, and I don’t think he can.
Kris is just kinda bland and forgettable.
Lil is less versatile and amazing that everyone thinks she is. Honestly, I don’t really get the love for Lil.
Danny is my favorite. PYT was off-the-charts amazing, but his last two performances have been a little off. Here’s hoping he can get back to his initial brilliance.
Allison is amazing. All the time. I thought she might be a one-trick-pony, always doing the Heart schtick. But with last night’s performance, I think she showed some amazing versatility.
Matt gets better and better. His Coldplay was miserable, but everything else has been really good.
And finally, I like Adam a lot. I actually saw him live with the cast of Wicked in LA a while back (of course that was before all this and I had no idea he’d be famous). I am one of the few who thought his Johnny Cash last week was actually creative and cool. Fit him to a T. And he didn’t remind me so much of Elvis as he did of k.d. lang.
Funny. I’ve resisted AI for years. Never even saw one episode. Now I’m absolutely addicted.

My call on Adam. He is very over-the-top. There are only so many ways you can cover this up when not in a Liza-psuedo-Broadway type of belting. I know a lot of people like him now, but I’m going to say that he’s either going to get old or find himself in too deep.
