For Lent, I will give up eating anything that is not good for my body and my soul. I will be more understanding of those around me, and learn to listen more to what the Lord is saying to me, and keep faithful to his word, which forever will be my life source, and in Jesus name I pray this Amen.

How do you and your family celebrate the Lenten season?

For Lent, I will be giving up going out to eat. I eat out more than I eat at home. Wanting to better myself physically and sacrifice a luxury, I feel this is the thing to let go of.
I will also spend more time in prayer and search for my ways to be of service.

For Lent, I pray that the Lord will help me understand His Words so that I may walk in His light.

Fasting from food for Lent as a spiritual journey, fell flat for me. We are a nation of over consumers; even if giving up meat, we are never in lack. Lent, in a spiritual sense, required resisting something that has tempted the spirit: MYSPACE. Not only is myspace addictive, it is self serving, egotistical and wicked. It is filled with pornographic images and a lack of moral constraint. It is filled with liars and flesh seekers. It is full of fornication, beastiality, incest, deviant sexuality, and deception. It is the stuff of Satan and I have turned my back to it, and to the fake profiles and endless lies from unknown faces that gain “ground” and flourish into demonic possession holding the “top eight.” It is testament to the fallen, and a moral compass to how far we have left behind the principles of life, liberty and following Gods laws. Instead of myspace, call it pervert place…and by unwittingly allowing the evil to enter your personal space, evil does take root. Satan’s ultimate evil is death; murders have resulted from stalkers and killers, and the national story of the teen who committed suicide when a neighbor’s mother posed as her loverboy. Satan uses deception for the purpose of possession and control, and for ultimate death. Myspace serves as an oulet to work evil and must be stopped. Demand that a true moral compass be placed on Myspace or risk the fall of christianity and decay of the holy spirit into a pile of perversion.

I would like to emphasize that we all need to spend more time in prayer for our new government leader and his staff during this economic crises we are in, and pray that God will give them the knowledge and tools to work with to bring our country back around for the good of her peoples. This could be an extra effort we all could do during this Lent season as we reflect on Christ dying on the cross for our sins and his resurection on the third day after his death to remind us that we all can live again with Christ by our side.
